The location was great. The cleaning staff and Mikes wife were helpful and very friendly.

I recently stayed at The Farm in Hartbeespoort with a group of friends — three couples in total — and wanted to share some feedback regarding our experience. Firstly, we truly appreciated the location. The property is beautifully situated on the mountain, offering stunning views and access to hiking trails. It’s clear that The Farm has great potential as a tranquil getaway. However, we encountered several issues that impacted our comfort during the stay: Upon arrival, there was a strong foul smell in the house, which gave the impression that the space had not been properly cleaned. The kitchen was infested with cockroaches, prompting us to wipe down every item before use, including cups and teaspoons. The drainage under the kitchen sink was faulty, and we had to improvise by placing a bucket underneath to catch leaking water. The shower drain in the first room on the right was completely blocked. The room adjacent to the kitchen has a deep hole in the wall, which raised concerns about safety and hygiene. At night, we heard strange sounds in the roof of Room 1 and the room near the kitchen, which was unsettling given previous reviews mentioning snakes. For peace of mind, we hoped it was just rodents. The view from Room 1 is obstructed by shacks and rubble, which detracts from the otherwise scenic surroundings. Additionally, we had an unfortunate interaction with the host, Mike. When one of our friends casually mentioned a review about snakes, Mike responded with hostility — shouting and accusing her of complaining too much. I also requested additional toilet paper, as each room was only provided with one roll for a three-day stay. This was a valid concern, yet it was met with resistance. We understand that feedback can be difficult to receive, but as paying guests, we believe it’s reasonable to raise concerns — not out of malice, but in the spirit of improvement. In summary, The Farm is a beautiful property with immense potential, but it requires maintenance

The location was perfect. The signage could be better. It read African swiss upon entering however a board to say the farm would be great. No big deal just something to think about .
