Achalochan House

We had an amazing time staying with Simon and Sara. They could not have been more welcoming! The room was cozy, the setting gorgeous, and their tips and advice were excellent. The breakfast stands out even above all of those things, though--easily the best breakfast we had in Scotland!

Sara and Simon welcomed us like family members with homemade shortbread and whiskey. The rooms were beautifully decorated. The breakfast was great and delicious. We highly recommend the avocado toast, it was our favorite. Sara and Simon were also very helpful in planning our day trip around Skye. If we ever come back to Skye, we would only want to stay with them.

Unfortunately, the weather during our stay was absolutely terrible, but Sara and Simon definitely can't be blamed for that.

Comfortable and clean.hosts were super helpful and sent lots of helpful tips before hand. Well equipped facilities.There were lovely personal touches in the room including home made shortbread!! The breakfasts were excellent quality

Important to note patchy mobile signal and that postcode doesn’t accurately get you to property though hosts do send multiple reminders about this

Comfortable place to stay, and great food!! Sara and Simon are wonderful hostess and host. Delightful couple.

Simon und Sara haben uns sehr herzlich empfangen und wir haben uns gleich zu beginn sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sauber. Auch das Frühstück war wirklich vom feinsten und mit viel Liebe gemacht. Wir haben die beiden Gastgeber mit ihrer offenen und herzlichen Art, jedenfalls sofort in unser Herz geschlossen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

It was very homey and comfortable and plenty of space for us to spread out . The adjacent farm animals were fun. Also great to have washer and dryer and host was prompt and extremely helpful with my questions

If was in the country but still pretty convenient to Castle Urquhart and Lock Ness

Die Gastfreundschaft von Simon und Sarah ist unbeschreiblich, haben uns von Anfang an wohl gefühlt und jede Plauderei mit den beiden genossen. Das Frühstück wird frisch zubereitet und schmeckt äußerst köstlich. Sarah und Simon unterstützen uns auch bei der Planung unseres Tages auf Skye und gaben uns einige sehr coole Insidertipps😁. Das Achalochan-House ist wirklich ein Erlebnis, das man jeden der Skye besucht nur wärmstens ans Herz legen kann. 100/10 Punkte!

Das man irgendwann wieder weiterreisen und das Haus verlassen muss :(

Wir wurden von Sara& Simon aufs herzlichste empfangen. Die Unterkunft war nicht unsere erste Wahl, wir waren aber bei der Buchung Ende Dezember schon wieder zu spät dran. Wir bereuten es nicht! Wir hatten ein sehr schönes, komfortabel eingerichtetes Zimmer /Bad. Das frühstück von Sara, einer passionierten Hobbyköchin war jedes Mal ein Erlebnis. I loved her porridge with a smile of fruits. Délicieus! Sie versorgten uns zugleich mit vielen sehr guten Ausflugstipps. Bereits im Vorfeld erhielten wir Zugang zum Guestbook mit allen notwendigen Informationen für unseren Aufenthalt. Saras Emails baten uns dringend um eine Reservierung für das Abendessen vorab. Was wir taten und was sich dann auch bewahrheite!!! Beim Fühstück in Ihrem Wohnzimmer fühlten wir uns in die Familie aufgenommen. Thanks a lot and all the best for you!!!

Das Zimmer ist relativ klein, so dass es einer gewissen Logistik hinsichtlich Koffer/ Taschen, Kleidung bei einem längeren Aufenthalt bedarf. Aber durchaus lösbar und mindert die Unterkunft in keinem Fall!
