Farm stay at Lavender Cottage on Haldon Estate

We were in Bloemfontein for a wedding and only arrived in the middle of the night from Cape Town. We arrived in the rain and cold and were so pleasantly surprised with the accommodation! Thick and Fluffy white bedding, fully equipped kitchen and even some coffee and milk for us. The cottage was clean and fresh and the television even had Netflix etc for the kids. The kids enjoyed roaming around outside and we definitely enjoyed the peace and quiet! Warm water, heated blankets, enough plugs and everything you would need in a kitchen! We also felt very safe on the Farm.

There was nothing we did not like. It was a bit of a strange road through the truck yards, but once we passed them we were jn the farm area.

Great property, good facilities and a great host. Perfect for us to stay over with our Labrador and 90 year old gran. Would recommend this beautiful stay.

There is now 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms at Lavender Cottage, both with a shower and toilet. We had our own private section, secluded and safe, so peaceful. The kitchen was huge and had a bit of sugar, tea, coffee, even a small box of milk, dishwashing liquid, salt and pepper, all the utensils and cutlery we needed....etc, basics. Towels were provided, too. The place was super clean and neat, beds were very comfy. The patio area was spacious and had chairs and a nice table, we had a lovely braai. I wish we could have stayed longer! There were electric blankets on all the beds, wifi, Netflix, YouTube and other streaming services, it was lovely. A home away from home. Sitting on the grass out in the sun was awesome as well, nice to have a picnic there. There was a two plate stove, a 1-plate Induction Stove which was perfect, large fridge

Would have been great to have more pots, there was 1 small pot and a frying pan. A Potjie pot would have been a nice extra, too. Would have been nice to have housekeeping daily, as I spent a lot of time washing dishes and cleaning. The road to get to the estate wasn't the best, could be better. None-the-less, we loved loved loved our stay and will definitely be back!
