HSH Monbijou - Serviced Junior Suite with balcony Bern City

Close to the city center, excellent location, clean apartment.

It was complicated to get in the apartment, even though we indicated the arrival time. The deposit is unrealistically high. The equipment is incomplete, basic things, soap, salt, coffee.. none. The bed is unsuitable for a 14 year old child, maybe it's good for a 7 year old. It was an unpleasant experience. :(

L’équipement de la cuisine, manque de poêle à frire d’un grille-pain, d’ustensiles pour cuisiner, pas d’épices, d’huile pour cuisiner! Pas de savon à main. On devait avoir accès à une laveuse à linge, mais pas disponible dans l’appartement, seulement dans le building avec une carte non-fournie. Difficile d’avoir des réponses à nos questions. Manque d’infos sur le recyclage! On l’a trouvé en fouillant sur Internet.

I would avoid this structure. A part from the fact that they asked me for a deposit of 500 CHF, something that is quite unusual, and for the fact that I got back the deposit after almost 3 weeks, the main concern is that the room was not ready and clean when we arrived at 7 pm. Thus we had to buy a Swiss sim and contact several times the structure, go back from the city center to bring the keys and wait till 11 pm. Of course, a part from various excuses anything was reimbursed for this fact but they instead asked us to clean the room for the next guest, something that we clearly did since we were scared for the deposit of 500 CHF. Probably the deposit is a strategy to push the guest to clean the room their own and do not pay the clean services, which explains also why we found the room not cleaned. Of course anything of this in mentioned on booking. Try to avoid this structure!!!

Location, quietness, balcony

it's in parts dirty. in particular, the kitchen equipment is dirty (glasses, cooking tools, pots ...). poorly equipped kitchen (no reasonably sized pan, not even salt ...). WiFi router directly next to the head while sleeping (I unplugged it). not much daylight and strange curtains that additionally needlessly block daylight. a sagging bed that would never suffice for 2 people for that reason alone, but also it's only 140 cm wide.

The property is located in a block of units, approx 1.5km from main Bern train station. It is on the bus and tram line and is easy enough to walk also. It is one room with seperate small bathroom and kitchen. It is adequate for two persons.

The property is advertised as having washing facilities. I asked 3 times for information regarding the location and process (as there is no washing machine in the apartment) No response to emails. This group will answer emails on the day of arrival but not after. Every correspondence they send is just using pre prepared and timed responses. We were asked to replace toilet paper and garbage bags at end of stay.This is most unusual. No information regarding rubbish disposal. Where do you buy Bern blue rubbish bags? No information or instructions left on anything. Nothing about Bern or local area. No information about the TV (which did not work either) Poor lighting. If you want to read in bed you will need a torch. Bosch coffee machine, but the pods are so specific that you have to buy them In large packages. Not suitable for travellers. Little touches that make a stay more enjoyable were missing overall.
