Casa Maria

Host was very accomodating as she allowed an earlier check in. I also appreciated her meeting us at the property rather than electronic check in. Bedrooms were a good size and there was air conditioning in each bedroom. Location is convenient to bus and train stations. It is also further away from the flight paths than some areas. The planes are really anoying over the port area and do take away from the experience in Faro.

The kitchen / living area is really small and with 3 of us it felt very crowded. The double bed was soft mattress, so not very supportive.

Very well situated, in proximity to the railway station and very close to the old town. Well equipped apartment with all amenities. Felt safe, even if the neighbourhood doesn't look modern or fancy. Locals are very nice, most times I came home after midnight and everything was absolutely fine.

For us it wasn't a big deal, but it's located on the 3rd floor with no elevator, if you have large suitcases it might be a bit difficult to carry them upstairs. Walls are a bit thin and you could hear the neighbours, although silence hours were respected. Something that was a bit annoying was some noise coming from a closet in the bedroom: I believe in there it's stored something related to the (hot?) water supply (not the heating unit, that one it's stored in a separate space and it was silent) and it makes a ticking noise, if you are light on your sleep, it might wake you up.

Casa Maria is a very nice flat located very close to city center. It is equipped with all necessary equipment (cooking stove, oven, microwave, toaster), caterware, pans for cooking. It had all equipment that I might have needed, like hair dryer, washing machine, vacuum cleaner (useful to clean the floor after beach), ironing board and iron. The location is very close to a train station (1 minute walk), you can barely see the train station from the door of the building. It felt the neighborhood was calm and safe . Very near the flat there were few spots to eat, like little local cafeterias, pizza spot, etc. A very good contact with the host. The host was answering our questions regularly. A very good flat to stay for a family with children.

The host was friendly and informative and also well organised!

There wasn’t enough bin liners provided. There should’ve been some more laundry tablets available especially for a stay that is longer than two days. Also there should be some basic seasonings probided such as salt and pepper and enough tea for the amount of days and people.

The host is kind, helpful with our extra request (booking transport to the airport) and the communication was smooth. The location of the apartment was excellent, close to inner city and the railway station.

The appartment could benefit from a general sanitary painting (there are some spots of mold in the rooms and in the bathroom). We would have appreciated a couple extra garbage bags , toilet papers and some basic ingredients normally found in appartments with kitchens (salt, oil).

The flat is in a fantastic position, close to the train station. Maria, the host, is lovely. The flat has everything you may need during your stay.

Not elevator

Our hostess met us at the train station and took us to the apt which was literally a 1 minute walk which was super helpful. Very well located and clean with comfortable beds and good laundry facilities. Great little café around the corner for early morning coffee and wonderful restaurant 1 block away.

We didn’t love the 3 floor walk up especially when carrying our luggage up and down. Furniture in one of the rooms was a bit flimsy and front of drawers fell off the first time we opened them. Otherwise well equipped with everything one needs.
