Furadouro Surf Camp (Studios)

It's in a great location near the beach, and the host (Leonor) is excellent. We will be back again.

The room was very clean (they even did intermediate cleaning during the stay), the kitchen is fully equipped, there is equipment for the beach, parking is always available on the street, the beach is very close.

We probably should have been more careful at the description when booking, but because of the pictures and the name (SURF Camp Studios), we assumed that the accommodation was surfers-friendly. Unfortunately it is not so: since the studio has no outside space, terrace or at least a small balcony, there was nowhere to dry wetsuits or store our boards. We were very disappointed about that. The irony: literally every other accommodation in town has an outdoor space... So if you come with your surf gear, make sure you choose the 4-person apartment (and pay more) or just book your accommodation elsewhere.

2 minutes walk from the beach and about a minute from the centre but not right in the middle of the hustle and bustle this is an ideal place to unwind for a getaway. Our little area had a kitchenette that had everything but an oven but nobody's going to be baking cakes during a vacation. A little outside varanda also made grilling a few steaks much easier. To conclude, our host, Leonor is an absolute joy of a person and makes sure you are having the best stay you could possibly have. VERY highly recommended. This is definitely a place to repeat. While you're at it, try out surfing at RedAnimal Surf as they are affiliated.

leanor is the loveliest of hosts, ensuring everything is satisfactory and following-up and through with clear communication. i love staying here every time i am in ovar+furadouro. it's truly a magical spot with a magical host and staff (esp theresa, who is the housekeeper with the best smile:)¹ ¹ extra shout out to the kitchen design: a proper layout for anyone to whip up a decent meal.

there's not much to dislike here. i would say i have managed to clog the toilet each stay, but should just eat less of the deliciousness that abounds? nah. #minorinconvenience
