Fewster Apartment with Free Parking

Great location. The flat was ok but with a few changes put in place it could easily become great!

Previous visitors who have stayed at the apartment commented on: (1) how uncomfortable the mattress is in the main bedroom (springs are clearly broken), but I was surprised to see that nothing has been done about this! The bed is simply not comfortable for the person trying to sleep (next to the window side) AND (2) there is clearly a SMELL when you enter the property (again this was noted by previous visitors). The property could do with a DEEP CLEAN and quickly, as when we arrived we had to wipe down surfaces (bedside tables, window sills and ledge between kitchen area and dining area) as they were very dusty. Couldn’t reach the cobwebs to get rid of them. The carpets need a good clean too. We visited the Welcome Lets office and reported issues to Emma, so good luck to future visitors that these things are acted upon. Would I stay here again, probably not!

Location, spacious apartment

Could have been cleaner, lacking attention to detail - bathroom shower screen, oven really dirty. Communal stairs not great.

The location is superb. Just a couple of minutes walking from the south walls in a very quiet street. Communication with the hosts was very good and they helped with everything we need it and more. Having a parking slot is also a plus. The apartment is comfy and although the kitchen is not particularly well equipped, it did the job to prepare breakfast and cook some dinner for the kids, which is fair enough. We would definitely book again in the future if we ever come back to York.

The mattress is not as comfortable as could be, but after long days of walking and sightseeing we managed to sleep well anyway. Not a big deal.

Lovely, warm, well maintained apartment, with parking! just a few minutes walk from the city centre.

Nothing

The place was beautiful, well kept and very clean. We appreciated the equipped kitchen and homely feel.

Sadly the double bed mattress was broken. It was like the springs had collapsed on one half of the bed. My husband had to sleep on the couch. (Which also seemed to have a spring or two missing in the middle.) The bunk mattresses also seemed to be very old and worn. Even my four year old struggled on the bottom bunk because the springs seemed to be poking out of the mattress. We would recommend that all the mattresses be checked and possibly replaced.
