Riverside Chalet Borve Isle of Lewis

Our expectations were far exceeded. The attention to detail (wine rack, flame effect fireplace, hot tub with sauna, games room, music and lights) the high standard of decor, the quality of finish (Farrow & Ball, plush, deep pile carpets) and cleverly planned lay out shows the chalet build was a labour of love. The welcome basket contained the basics as in bread, milk, butter, porridge etc but also a gift box of shortbread, Tunnocks, tea cakes and Prosecco. The property is located a short walk away from the beach in one direction and a short walk away from a hotel, bar and restaurant in the other. The host (Eddie) was on site so able to help with small details and amenities. In summary, we were so impressed with this property. It was a short visit a friend’s uncle (now sadly passed) but will be back as it’s ideally located and so welcoming in every way.

Modern, clean, location, hot tub, outside area.

This is my second trip to riverside chalet, I didn’t have any hesitation on booking again when I found it was available. It was perfect the first time and the owners have only made the place better. From the comfort, cleanliness, location right through to the amenities, this is the place to stay while on the Isle of Lewis.

Having to leave, that’s the only problem with staying here is that you don’t want to leave. The peace and quiet and soaking in the hot tub just makes my trips to the Isle of Lewis even better.

A wonderful property and facilities at the highest standard. Hot tub and sauna a real treat. Location was great to visit several key attractions on Lewis while just 30min from Stornaway. A local shop, pottery and hotel restaurant all within 5 min walk, with a walk to the sea across the Croft of another 5min. Hosts were terrific, offering a lovely welcome basket and a bottle of Prosecco. All told a truly wonderful stay and a terrific ‘get away’ spot for couples or family.

No negatives to speak of - just prepare for five seasons’ worth of weather within a single afternoon!

A well presented bungalow with everything we needed for our stay. The kids loved being able to log into their Netflix, the welcome hamper was also well received. The location was great, we could see the see from the decking, we looked for the Northern Lights but missed them! All in all a great stay.

Everything was spot on - although rather knives were a bit sharp (ouch) and we were just missing an egg cup!

Couldn’t fault it, from the welcome pack to the hot tub, from the sauna to the fresh towels. Owner was extremely welcoming. Location is perfect to completely get away from it all. Stargazers will love it here.

Excellent property with good facilities in superb location for visiting numerous locations on Lewis and Harris. Excellent welcome pack exceeded our expectations and was appreciated and enjoyed. Close to a number of walking routes and points of interest.

The inability to use the outside sitting & dining facilities - they were great - but that was down to the weather!!

Everything was perfect, the location, the views, the chalet itself and all the extras. Was a perfect location for our minimoon and would not hesitate to book again should we ever return to the island. Thank you so much!
