Heart of the City Luxury Apartment

Location was good and the place was fairly clean.

The hot water did not work. I called customer service who called a plumber for that evening. When we got home however the problem was not fixed, there was no further communication from the agency and their offices were closed. I called again the following morning and at least we got our lodging changed. Considering I still paid full price, we did one of the two nights without being able to take a shower, the second apartment was fine which is why I’m not giving a 1. However for such a serious issue I would have expected a follow up from the agency checking whether or not the problem got fixed - and if not an immediate change regardless of office hours. I do thank Chris from customer service for fixing the issue that morning, but I still feel that I’m ought a refund for the first night.

Convenient location (lives up to its name of Heart of the City!) Deceptively spacious! Home away from home vibes. Very clean in all facilities, and the provision of a handbook was much appreciated. Loved our little stay here to start off the new year.

Only three things that are incredibly trivial and didn't impact our stay, just some observations: More hand soap for the bathroom, like an extra bar. Wardrobe closet was a bit messy. Couldn't find thermostat remote, was not in the place mentioned in handbook?

Spacious property, great facilities with the perfect location to go and see the popular parts of York including the shambles which was down the road. You couldn’t get any better if you’re looking for a city break. Perfect location.

I loved everything - the only downside to every inner city apartment is just the people walking by late at night. Could hear a lot of it as our bedroom was right on the front bottom floor - York seems to have people cleaning the streets early hours & you could hear that too haha.

I would not describe this as a luxury apartment, carpets etc and sofa had few marks on them and windows very old, shower tray had strange stickers mouldy stickers on it. Pillows (inside the covers) were very old and stained. No mattress protector on the bed under the sheet. It was very noisy - the sash windows were drafty and need insulating. The road has a lot of people walking by your windows all day and all night. The front door to all the flats is right next to the bedroom, so you hear everyone coming in and out of the building. Delivery vans arrive every morning (early) to deliver food to the restaurants up that road. When I stayed there the restaurant was being renovated opposite so workmen arrived and made noise early and they were erecting scaffolding onto the apartment building.

Location was perfect for us as we didn't have a car - bit noisy but no issues with that. Bathroom was small but very clean. Facilities provided were fine for our needs.

I wouldn't describe it as 'luxury' tbh. The net curtains were ripped, dirty and in need of replacement and the window cill/frames were not exactly clean. The cutlery was very cheap and literally bent when squeezing a teabag!
