The Retreat at Dukes Townhouse

Room was excellent, couldn't fault anything.

It is a basement room and the floor above isn't adequately soundproofed. We could hear every movement above us and it went on all day from the early hours of the morning. Sometimes sounded like a herd of elephants moving around above us.

The welcome hamper was a wonderful and a glady received surprise! The apartment felt luxurious and was beautifully clean. It was lovely having such clear instructions for anything we needed to know, both sent prior to arrival and contained in a handy folder in the apartment. We also appreciated the very easy controlled thermostat and the extra blankets, which we made great use of this chilly weekend!

The small niggle was that the shower door in no way protected the floor from the water, so each time we had a shower, the whole floor around it was soaking. Luckily, because of the great heating and lovely radiators, we could dry off the shower mat throughout the day ready for the next use.

High finish throughout and literally a short walk into York city centre. Super clear instructions for access too and a great little hamper bag with goodies was perfect

Absolutely superb location in a beautiful road and very handy for both the station and walking into the centre. Lovely gift bag provided and incredibly comfortable place to stay.

Only a very very minor negative with shower screen not preventing quite a bit of water escaping onto bathroom floor, then a bit of an operation to get bath mat dry again with small towel rail.

Everything that we needed was there, The Town House was exceptionally clean and comfortable; there was even a dishwasher available which we didn't need to use. The Town house smelt delicious. There was even an outside sitting area. There was a fantastic welcome bag for us containing prosecco, crisps, nuts, coffee tea and biscuits. the chocolate was most welcome! The parking space close by was a real bonus.
