The Courtyard by Chateau Anna, Central York - Free parking

A great basement apartment located in a quiet location offering a permit for on-street parking. We were lucky to park just out front of building and the property is to the rear. Spacious living area and kitchen had everything you’d need. It was a very cold weekend in York but having thermostat to increase heating temperature was so beneficial. It warmed quickly too. Beautiful and comfortable bed linen with superb pillows too, ensuring a great nights sleep. It was so quiet, away from the vibrant hustle and bustle of the city. A very small bathroom/shower with ample hot water. A great location to walk along the river that leads directly into the city, York is a beautiful city and we thoroughly enjoyed our time exploring and eating in some fabulous cafes and restaurants.

All messages seemed automated as when we messaged there was no response. Slightly concerned as check-in details were released 15mins before entry and having driven four hours we were naturally concerned. Again if a message was sent explaining this it would have eased the unnecessary concern. The rear of property was disappointing. Rubbish dumped and left. We mentioned that carpets were extremely stained, toilet ran excessively after each flush and TV didn’t work.(remote did not connect and screen was severely pixelated). We even purchased new batteries for remote but that did nothing. All minor things that can be sorted easily.

Location was great - not central but a lovely walk into the centre of the city

Having more than just a hotel room for our stay

The empty building to the back of the courtyard, made us feel a little uneasy

The location was perfect, nice stroll along the river to the city centre......and short walk in the other direction for the racecourse. The apartment was lovely and comfortable. I would recommend it for a short stay.

The apartment was very nicely decorated and very clean.The bed was very comfortable The bedding and towels were of a very high quality .We loved the river walk into the city centre .

Nothing too bad; just that the steps and area in front of the apartment could do with a little sweep and tidy up.Also ,an automatic sensor light in the steps area might be a good addition.
