The Green Nubian House

The location of the apartment is right on the Nile river with a great view and everything was homey and rustic. Its really great value for money. Hegazy the host and his father was really attentive to all our needs and never bothered us during our stay.

Its quite a struggle to move with large luggages due to the dirt road condition of the place with several upward slopes to the apartment, but other than that, everything was great.

Fantastic terrace overlooking the Nile! Location is excellent, away from the bustle of the east bank but right near the ferry terminal so easy to get over to Aswan when needed. Host family were also able to accommodate an early check in.

Muhammed and his father were excellent hosts, very relaxed and friendly. The apartment was very big with beds for 6-8, with a large balcony. The Nubian island was exceptional: no cars, no motorbikes, no roads, no noise. The apartment, like the island, is not high-tech with the latest gadgets and fittings (there was no TV: good), but that is exactly what a restful break should be. Restaurants very good and everything very comfortable and very reasonable. "Civilisation" is a two minute ferry, in the shape of Aswan. In short: very peaceful people and a very peaceful place. Do yourself a favour, take a peaceful break and leave the 21st century where it should be: somewhere else.

Some people may not like the dirt paths between run down dwellings with plenty of light rubbish, the air of poor village. It's not the rich West, accept it for what it is and you will enjoy the peace and the Nubian people.

We had a great stay at the green Nubian house, the appartment was confortable, and very clean with a nice view. The host was very helpful and easy to communicate with.

The flat description refers to it as a studio flat, but it's actually a 2 bedroom flat, which is much better. The host was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty and very generous.

The facility is located in Elephantine Island (100m from ferry port) which is perfect as it's away from Aswan traffic. The room was super huge with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, large living room and balcony overlooking Aswan. Perfect for sunrise/sunset views. You can walk round the island, looking at the Nubean life but have Google maps with you to avoid getting lost. You do have to take a local ferry which charges EGP10/pax which takes 3min to cross over.

Truly exceptional! Spacious flat with all amenities, cleanliness, really nice owner who helps with everything. And a large balcony on the Nile. Highly recommended!!!
