Marshlands Apartment

I had a truly wonderful stay at Marshland apartment. The location was excellent—nestled in the stunning backdrop of the Downs, it offered a peaceful, idyllic setting that felt like a true escape. The apartment itself was full of thoughtful little touches that made it feel incredibly welcoming and homely. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep every night. Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide and impressive selection to choose from—especially the variety of teas, which was a lovely and unexpected touch. Everything about this place was designed with care and attention to detail. It was the perfect combination of comfort and charm, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended!

Our hostess, Ginny, provided a wonderful array of things for our breakfast: not only coffee and tea, of course, but also croissants, sliced bread, a seeded loaf of unsliced bread, orange juice, milk, a punnet of raspberries, a punnet of blueberries, some smoked salmon, cream cheese, and jars of marmalade and honey of their own making (with a little help from the bees, which our host Henry has been tending for 40 years). The apartment is large, bright, perfectly clean, perfectly private modern and yet homey. From the floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom downstairs you can look out through shrubbery into the garden; and from the corresponding windows upstairs you look out across fields to the gentle swell of hills separating you from the sea. The big double bed is wonderfully comfortable. We would recommend this place enthusiastically and without hesitation. Admittedly, the road 100 to 150 feet away it's very busy, but the windows I have referred to are double glazed, so we did not find the traffic noise troublesome at all. It is certainly worth mentioning also that you are merely five minutes or less from the centre of Lewes; and getting to Glyndebourne, if that is your ultimate destination, is a snap.

We liked everything , the apartment was beautiful , clean and very well equipped. The breakfast basket was amazing and very generous . We would highly recommend Marshlands .
