This is a hard property to review. First of all I have to say that my family absolutely loved it. We thought it was a gorgeous authentic Flemish apartment and relish the light and the amazing view of the castle and the huge fireplaces. We didn’t mind the stairs and found there were plenty of facilities for self catering, washing clothes and the sofa was super comfortable for just hanging around and reading next to the huge windows. Having one toilet upstairs and one downstairs was great and we managed the no shower curtain issue easily and liked the way that they had managed to fit a bathroom into a house like this. We would go back any time and Ghent is wonderful.

I can understand why some people might not like this apartment. It does need a thorough carpet clean and maybe some new curtains and a bit of a tidy up. Some of the pots and pans are broken and the stairs can be hard work. I think whether you like this place depends on the sort of person you are but we loved it.

This is not a 4 star apartment ..the whole place requires a complete overhaul it is dark and dingey and requires redecoraring everywhere..the location is good but when you use the apartment as ...sleeping pit then get out as soon as you can..where did the 4 stars come from

Historic apartment right in the heart of Ghent. All the amenities you could want & very spacious & comfortable. Would go again!
