Metochi Athentic Hospitality

I had a very comfortable second stay at Metochi. Once again Martha and her team were extremely welcoming, accommodating, and helpful during my stay. The property is very well maintained and has everything needed for self catering. It’s a fair ‘climb’ up the cobbly stepped hill, and is away from the main port area, so nice and peaceful. For someone with moderate fitness or above, is no problem to get to, or to explore the island from.

Modern but cozy, feels completely newly renovated (Feb 2025). There is a grocery store just a few minutes walk from the house. Martha, the host, was very nice and easy to communicate with.

Nothing much to complain about really, wifi was a bit slow sometimes but didn't matter to me.

The location was excellent. Centrally for many activities and very quiet. Martha is an excellent host and we can only recommend.

We have no improvement comments, as we liked also the authenticity.

The apartment was beautiful and in a brilliant position, just a five minute walk from a well-stocked local shop and plenty more within easy reach. Martha was an exceptional host and so helpful and kind, we had a brilliant, relaxing stay that we will never forget, absolutely perfect, perfect, perfect.

It’s beautifully decorated throughout to a very high standard. Nice to have some outside space too. The host is very accommodating. You can get a view of the sea and sunset from the shared garden. It’s an authentic old building restored to perfection and it’s very quiet.

It would be my ideal preference to have a view from a balcony or window but you’re quite closed in. Although it’s very cozy. Overall we found the walk uphill to the property quite daunting so we only came back when we really had to so that meant we went out ‘beach fresh’ straight from the sea most nights rather than come back and change first.

Was not made aware how difficult it was to get to the room until the night before our stay. I am an older woman and couldn't manage the close to at least 500 winding steps needed to get to the room. We did not stay more than 1 night even though we booked for 4 nights.

Location is challenging to find especially if you had a couple of drinks at nite. Hire the donkey man for your luggage and make sure you ride it. Thanks to Martha, for the her unique map, beats Google maps. Make sure you get that map from her.
