"Peak season, so a bit overpriced but communication from staff was good."

Neat and easy to find.

There was some mould in the top of the wardrobe which was a bit of a concern, but it was a comfortable room.

Bed quality & all basic facilities - air conditioner, Washing m/c, fridge, kitchen. The manual clearly mentions all details to know. The hotel is 11-12 min walk from the railway station. However, is in quiet area. A convenience store (family mart) is at walking distance. Nijo Castle and Shinsen-en Garden are nearby.

immersed in a very local residential neighborhood, short walks to local style coffee shops, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. Well fitted out room with kitchenette, good sized refrigerator & freezer, hot pot, etc. Comfortable bedding and seating. Never met/interacted in person with a single staff person. It was all very DIY.
