Slope House

We highly recommend staying at the Slop House. Great location (in the middle of the island). The view was magnificent (a beautiful lagoon), and the apartment was big, clean, and comfortable. The Kitchen was well equipped. The Host, Jose, was accommodating. He sent many recommendations and helped us book in restaurants (Which is not easy during the tourist season). It was a wonderful experience.

Modern, comfortable house in a great location for touring San Miguel and with beautiful views. Our host, Jose was so helpful with information and tips for places to visit. The hot tub was excellent too!

Everything was great - magical view of the Ocean from the panoramic window and terrace (never get bored:) large, comfortable apartament and well maintained. The bathroom was also very clean. It was peaceful and nice. We really liked the owner, he was extremely nice, and welcoming. I would definitely go back there!

What you will on find Sao Miguel - and on the Azores in general - is that you are in fact truly welcome. You will find no better example of this than your host José: Extremely helpful, providing excellent tips and tricks on to get the most out your time on the island(s) and just basically making you feel at ease and, well, welcome. The flat itself is elegant, clean and modern with an almost Scandinavian aestethic, and the view just great. It's simply zen to watch the cow on the meadow (wife: "the cow just stood up!" Me: dropping everything and running to the balcony :-) ). 100 meters further out, you have the ocean with a view that stretches all the way to Santa Maria Island 140 km away on a clear day. Do yourself a favor and simply go down to the rocky beach beneath the church in the evening, put your feet in the Atlantic, enjoy a glass of wine and just enjoy the moment. In short: When visiting the Azores, Slope House should at the very top of your shortlist!

Awesome location with a beautiful view and everything you could want in a stay. Fantastic host who was extremely proactive in ensuring our stay was great, and providing recommendations for restaurants, sites, etc. Would 100% recommend to friends and family.

The view on the ocean is stunning, the apartment is fully furnished ( as Italians, we greatly appreciated the bidet in the bathroom!). Jose is an incredible host, always available. He shared his recs about excursions/restaurants and things to in the island.

This place was everything we hoped for. The view is absolutely amazing, the couch and bed are extremely comfortable and the bathroom is sparkling clean (like the rest of the bathroom place). I would definitely stay here again!

If you don’t have a car, the bus system isn’t really reliable. However, if you do have a rental car, it’s perfect because you’re close to Ponta Delgada and close enough to the highway to get anywhere on the island fast.
