OESIS - Stylish Villa Steps from Historic Galle Fort

Very nice and comfortable place. The place is spacious, clean and looks pretty new. Strategic location as well. Very suitable for family or big group of people.

Firstly, we noticed there are quite a number of cctv in the house. Checked with the person in charged when we checked out and he confirmed that they are concealed. Wasn’t too happy with his attitude when we had that conversation as he showed his dissatisfaction assuming that we’re confronting him. At the very least we should be informed about the cctv when we checked in as it makes us quite uncomfortable during our stay thinking that there’s no privacy at home. Secondly, the USD to LKR rate they used is quite unfair to us as they charged more if I pay using LKR but when they returned the balance in LKR, they used a different rate. And lastly, would prefer some flexibility in terms of check in and check out times. Was contacted a few times with regard to check in time - it’s a bit difficult to provide an exact time given the traffic and unforeseen circumstances. But understand that the person in charge will need time to travel to the place before we check in.

Noise of construction work

The apartment is very spacious, good for a family stay with en suites in every room. Bedrooms nice with comfy beds and good air con. Good location, very central to Galle and about a 15/20 minute walk to the forte. Good communication from the owner throughout regarding check in / check out instructions and very responsive to messages.

Negatives: Arrived after check in time to find the apartment still being cleaned, which we would not have minded if the kitchen wasn’t still filthy and dirty. There was food & chewing gum still in the sink, dirty tea towels and surfaces. We contacted the owner who apologised and offered to come and clean it however at this point we had already done it ourselves and did not want to be interrupted on our stay. Please be mindful when paying to check the exchange rate. The current exchange rate was 290 SLR to 1 US dollar on the day of arrival, we were charged 300 SLR. This is worth checking before paying.

The property is situated at walking distance to the Galle Fort which made most of the attractions easily accessible to us. It was also clean and spacious, equipped with several bathrooms, common areas and a designated smoking area.

The location is fantastic, but the house could do with better ventilation. Also, the insistence on upfront payment is a bit offputting. We would have paid, but to be reminded again and again was a dampner. The kitchen could also have more vessels. All that said, a very good experience.

It felt very safe, in a good location, staff very accommodating and let us check in earlier. Very helpful. Having a driveway was good for us. The washing machine and iron provided was good as we had some washing from our trip. The beds were clean and comfortable and the best showers we have had so far.

The internet didn’t work well, but not a big problem as we spent a lot of time out and playing family games. Quite a few flys so keep doors closed. But overall a good stay.

The location , cleanness of the apartment and good welcome of the owner

The owner whatsup me welcome to our apartment (you have booked 2 nights two rooms) while i booked 3 rooms . So i would suggest to guests to make sure to whatsup the owner before you pop in the apartment.

The property has a great location just a short walk to town. It has super comfy beds and the owners go above and beyond to please. Great for a family stay in lovely Galle.

Nothing

This was a half work half family visit to Galle, Sri Lanka. Me and my partner went there with my parents. The place was exactly how we pictured it. Modern, clean villa with self-catering facilities. We loved that the villa was best of both worlds: closer to the city centre & Galle fort and in a very laid back neighbourhood. The host Nande was super friendly and very welcoming. Asanka, the manager was also very helpful being in touch with us through WhatsApp all the time.

We wanted to go to Mirissa for dolphin watching. Unfortunately it was about 45minutes drive from the villa.
