HoNoDo HIEIJYO-東寺

Amazing traditional looking house, made our evenings in Kyoto One station by local train from Kyoto station, then 12min walk. Also busses going around city stop 6minutes from the house Alright kitchen, microwave, fridge Everything seems authentic AC, good shower & bathtub

Kitchen had only pot, no pan to cook things, but it was enough, also microwave helped Stairs onto the 2nd floor are very steep, but there are rails, it's a part of the traditional house experience for young tourists

Very comfortable stay. Good location.

Laundry is not available. There is a coin laundry nearby but prices are absurd. Staff seems to communicate via a translator so messages aren't clear. They also have very expensive fees (for let's say, helping guests with item disposal) in comparison to what hotels usually charge.

Very nice place, very minimal design. Cozy, comfortable. Good to experience such a place. Thank you.

Couldn't find a light switch in the front room.

We will definitely stay here again in Kyoto. Such a nice area and calm to live in! The house was spacious and really dreamy. Everything was perfect.

Everything was same as shown in pictures. Moreover it was like a Doraemon house which was preferred by my kids. So it was amazing

There should be more utensils to prepare food.

It was a great experience of stay in a traditional japanese house. The area is very quiet, so we slept like babies. The location is convenient, as we could reach all attractions with public transportation. Kyoto station is walking distance away. The house itself is very clean and spacious for 2 -3 people. We were 2 and felt super comfortable. There is a leaving room and kitchen downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs where we were sleeping on surprisingly comfortable futons (japanese bed).

For some people sitting on the floor during their meal and not having a single chair in the apartment might be challenging. But for me personally everything was exciting in this house and also comfortable.
