The double story and space in the house. Traditional yet a modern interior. Comfy beds and thick blanket.

The steps were too steep. Might be tough for elderly to climb the stairs. The toilet and shower is at the opposite of the house.

Very clean, very cozy, very traditional, relaxed area and bigger than expected.

No smart TV. Only 5 channels. I would like a TV with Netflix or some other streaming channel.

Super cozy home in residential area of Kyoto. You will need to taxi almost everywhere, but it wasn't hard to do with Uber. Nice traditional feel, lovely shower, and everything you need.

Everything about this apartment was good. Clean, good location, decor in fitting with traditional but with some modern touches. Check in and out process was non contact which made things super simple with instructions.

Nothing disliked but just a caution to those booking, the staircase upstairs is extremely steep and tight to get up and down.

The bedroom had an emergency light, that could not be shut down. During the night it was really unpleasant to have such strong lighting.

The Bathroom was very cozy and relaxing. The same goes for the spacious Futons and blankets. The overall atmosphere and aesthetics were well worth the money and I was enjoying my evenings and mornings there. Also, it was very clean and the usual amenities were provided. Being close to the Toji-Temple, Conbinis/Supermarkets and the Kyoto Station a bonus. The host was very nice and responded to inquiries. It would definitely recommend it.

In the upper floor room for sleeping, the emergency-exit sign above the rooms door was very bright and unpleasant, I don't know if it has to be due to local law. Also, the AC was a bit loud even on the lowest setting, but this was not a big problem for me. There was not that much equipment for cooking, but it was ok for me. Keep in mind that the "no-tatami-areas" get very cold in winter, but this is just a fact of traditional Japanese housing, so I wouldn't really state it as a negativ aspect. Also keep in mind the steep chairs.
