Habitatio - Aliados by LuxiStay

There were building works outside for the whole street, dust everywhere, no possible to open the window. Shower was moldy. We only had a main front door code which caused a problem getting in to access our apartment during the power cut. For 2 hours nobody answers our calling, sms, mails. Only some robot was on the other side. We did not know what happened, we were really afraid of that situation. Check in and check out not possible to change. No reception. Who is owner? Automat? Some company? Very very bad experience for us.

Extremely disappointing stay. Firstly there were building works outside for the whole street. These were incredibly loud and also absolutely smelt bad. Would have been nice to know this was going on before we booked. We noticed there was very poor cleaning, notably urine stains on toilet. We spoke to the host about this and they advised it was just old. No offer for cleaning. There were only 2 coffee pods (also 2 decaf) for 2 people for a 6 day stay - we asked about this and was told to go to the supermarket. One of the nights, the water stopped working - we literally had to shower by pouring water bottles on ourselves. We messaged the host and they advised to send pictures of the taps not working. Again no offer to assist. These were the big issues we had with the place. Because of these, some smaller issues just added to this and made it more unpleasant. These included No plug for the sink to wash up used glasses and dishes. Also no where to put dishes to dry. The front door is incredibly loud, you can hear it slam every time it is used. You can hear footsteps throughout the whole building and they are quite loud. No shelf in bathroom to put toiletries. Ran out of toilet paper. There is a bath listed in the facilities however there is none. Aircon is not listed as included, which we knew about, however when we wanted to open the windows, you either have to open the front to the smelly building works or open the bedroom window where someone in the property is smoking illicit substances which blows through the house. We had to opt for windows closed and deal with the heat. I acknowledge some of these are out of the host's control, however due to our bad experience, these just add to it overall.

La ubicación, el departamento realmente era muy bonito, contaba con todo lo necesario para unos días de relax. El personal súper atento en solucionar cualquier inconveniente que ocurra. Volvería sin dudarlo.

The host was quite responsive and kind when I asked them to refill the empty bottles of shampoo and body wash. They also tried to find a solution to the molds in the bathroom that I reported. Unfortunately I didn't consistently receive notifications of replies on the Booking app so I read their response to my complaint at a later time. The location was also great, even if there were construction works just outside the building. It was central that it was so easy to go sightseeing by foot.

Although the host was kind to try to satisfy our demands (refill shampoo and body wash + clean the huge amount of molds on the bathroom tiles), I feel like these should have been addressed before we arrived. We shouldn't have to report these problems to them. It was the level of non-cleanliness of the bathroom that ruined the experience for us. Additionally, we also noticed that the sofa bed was also moldy. Also, it wasn't indicated anywhere that there is no airconditioning in the apartment. We had a bunch of hot days during our stay and it was hard to sleep in the bedroom. It was hot and humid inside at the same time and there was a small window, but when opened, mosquitoes would come in. While the living room seemed well-ventilated, the bedroom was the opposite. It would have made a difference if there was AC. Lastly, there were no basic ingredients available in the kitchen like salt, pepper, sugar and cooking oil. In the end, even if we wanted to cook and eat there at certain times to save some money, we weren't able to because we would have had to do groceries with stuff we wouldn't be able to take back with us. Luckily the area is well-located so we ended up eating at restaurants

Its very centrally located and the accommodation very spacious.

Loved the clean space and within walking distance to all attractions.

Location.

The location is great for exploring Porto. Although when we stayed there were roadworks in the street outside, the noise was minimal and anyway we were out all day. The bedroom is at the back and totally quiet at night. The whole building inside is recently refurbished. The lift makes a huge difference if you’ve got heavy cases.
