Riva Royal Lounge Apartment

Amazing spot right on the water edge with all cafes etc. lift was good. Big area which was nice. Played the piano.

No communication on how to get into the property. We arrived late (genius provided driver). We walked around fur almost 2 hours looking. Our place had a huge door. We had no instructions on just open that door which looked locked. After panicking my husband accidentally found the door open. Went the lift and we were on the 5th floor. Had been given the wrong code so couldn’t get in. Phoned our daughter in Australia. She organised it after we harboured passport etc well after midnight. Got into the apartment. No hot water. Done kind of communication would have made it so easy. No real windows. Skylights. One window in the kitchen. The littie verandah was very dirty and I didn’t feel like cleaning it. So that was all disappointing.

Once the owner gave us the details, we managed to find it, but not obvious as the building entrance is in a building with 3 consulates. The location is on the Riva pedestrian promenade, full of terraces, people, music, noise, however, the positive is that the flat is NOT on the promenade, so ZERO sea view, but less noisy. The owner responded fast to the issue of a sink blockage.

2 kitchen bulbs did not work, the only one working was constantly buzzing, obviously an electrician needs to come to repair it. The coffee machine was leaking. This showed that little attention was put to the property. We took pictures and a video and sent them to the owner. When we left, hopefully, he/she would take care of it. The terrace should be cleaned too, and the windows. There is ZERO view on the sea, ZERO. The flat has one little spoon, just one! a few cups, no tea mugs, no toaster. No sugar, no salt, no oil. Better to eat out, be ready, Riva is VERY touristy, so prices are as high as in any big city, and smile is rare.

The location was fabulous. Even though it was right on the Riva, the apartment was quiet. It was nice that there was an elevator. Both beds were comfortable with a third room with a twin. Check-in was easy and appreciated that they accommodated an early check-in.

There wasn’t any cooking oil, salt and pepper or a drying towel/starter paper towel roll. This would have been great.

It has a piano and air conditioning! It is perfectly located and very quiet. The washing machine is easy to use and there is a beautiful view of Split from the terrace and kitchen window. We had everything we needed for our stay and will happily book again for our next visit. Rather a lovely view of the sea and the port from the top skylight.

Right at the heart of the Old Town, seconds away from the Promenade. Great location and beautiful studio-- wish I could live here myself! The host was also super accommodating and helped me recover a swimsuit I left behind at the Airbnb.
