Rustic House Diklo 20m from the sea

I liked everything very much, the sea is close, everything is clean, the hosts are very friendly, I really enjoyed the holiday! I recommend it!

Pros: - very good contact with the owner; - view from the terrace; - blinds in each window as well as mosquito nets; - peace and quiet; - huge supply of the apartment (pots, glasses, spices, oil etc).

Cons: - very soft mattress (for some this may be a plus - in my case a minus); - the terrace seemed to be untidy - a lot of dust, soil on the floor - fortunately there was access to a broom so this could be taken care of; - it is worth adding that at the moment Diklo is one big construction site (but it is worth adding that at the moment you can not hear any noise coming from construction sites - which does not affect in any way the relaxation on the terrace). Every day we may be surprised by new construction right next door - for example, the day before our departure, leaving the intricate street right next to the apartment, to our eyes appeared a slalom of holes, as there were suddenly replaced pipes in one section. A day later, the problem disappeared. However, most of the street along the sea is currently being repaired. Many new buildings are being constructed in the city - which may signal that in just a few years, Diklo will be a very developed and modern city.

Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Lovely location, very quiet, close to the sea. Great terrace upstairs with view of harbour. Great communication from host, immediate responses and very helpful.

What a wonderful place to stay, a cute and cosy apartment tucked away from the Main Street through Diklo, yet only 20m away from the sea, a fabulous cafe bar just down the walkway and a bus stop straight into Zadar just over the Main Street. Ideal location, dreamy views and fantastic owners who were super proactive and helpful when needed. They were on hand to advise with ideas for trips and activities and when the air conditioning stopped working, had someone out as soon as they could to get it sorted. Both Roko and Marina were lovely and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and helpful and happy to speak English even if they weren’t proficient which was nice. We’ve had other experiences where we’ve asked in other countries if people speak English and have been met with gestures and a firm No! Everything about Diklo is magical, the sea, being able to access it anywhere along the coast all the way to Diklo beach with steps and being able to just get in was wonderful. We had a blast and are already thinking of what we’ll do on our next visit.

The property is lovely but I personally prefer the room to be darker when I sleep, I found that there was a lot of light coming in so perhaps blackout blinds or curtains would be a good idea? A toaster and a coffee plunger would also make it even better, as well as closer access to clothes washing facilities. We arrived late in the evening and it would have been amazing to be able to arrange water in the fridge and a few bits for our arrival (obviously paying for them in advance) this may be something to consider for late arrivals? Honestly this is me making suggestions not complaining!

Quiet location and an excellent bus service into Split. Roko looked after me well. I had the ground floor apartment (one of three at this site) and it was cool and well laid out. The absence of a view did not affect my stay, as the terrace was a few metres away.

At the price I paid, nothing not to like.
