the room was not clean, the fridge was dirty bathroom worse. the gate not close security very bad. the yard not clean.

The owner has made a significant investment in the business, especially the facilities related to entertainment. It was also encouraging to see this level of investment in hospitality in a black community within a rural setting. The unit occupied was comfortable, including an air conditioner in the bedroom. This is highly important, as temperatures in the area can get very high. The unit was also decently decorated and well provided for purposes of self catering, including a fridge. It was also well supplied with plug points, making it easy to charge my phone and laptop.

There were empty alcohol bottles and cans as well as other remnants of a party or braai all over the yard, indicating the property had recently hosted one such event. I removed a beer bottle from the parking area, which I could easily have driven over and damaged a tyre. I felt the trash could have been cleared before I got there as it was not conducive at all to a comfortable stay for a business traveller like myself. I later heard from a local resident that the property is popular for entertainment events such as parties, braais and weddings and that I was lucky my stay did not coincide with one such event. In the bedroom, a bedside table and lamp would be helpful.

There were cockroaches in the room. And very noisy.
