CITY STAYS BELÉM APARTMENTS

It was close to our destinations for the trip. Convenient with a supermarket nearby. Good with a toilet for each two-person.

1) Booking two apartments and seeing that there were four apartments in the building - one on each level, we were sad to discover, that one party had to stay on the upper floor, while the other party had to stay on the ground floor. It's extra sad as we know that the other apartments were both checking in and out the same days.... 2) The ground floor was pretty depressing... No or less daylight and the lighting in the apartment, especially the one at the dining table, were wayyyy too off. Yellow and not aligned with the others. 3) We found ants everywhere from day 1. 4) When taking a quick look, the apartments seemed clean, but once our shoes were off, we saw from our feet that the floors were waaaaay too dirty. Our feet were completely black after just a few walked around...

The place was nice and clean and located in a central location. The only issues were the shower is a little awkward and leaks to the rest of the bathroom and the dishwasher was not working. Also the washing machine took a long time to do a small load of clothes.

Our hostess Mafalda was extremely helpful. The apartment has a wonderful balcony with a fantastic view. The best place I could hope for!

For us the location was perfect: central but not touristy with nice small restaurants around. Belém is very close with nice sights to visit. The apartments were spacious and heating worked very well.

The apartments could easily be much better equipped (e.g. scissors and other kitchen equipment, more space to leave things in the bathrooms...). As the apartments are "self-catering" better cleaning equipment would also be great. We stayed for 2 weeks and cleaning the large apartment only with a little brush and shovel was almost impossible... The upper apartment had an unpleasant smell, which however was partly fixed after our complaint. We were asked to pay 40Euros too much in city tax, which we only realised because we checked the rules ourselves and insisted (you pay city tax for max. 7 nights in a row, so in our case not for the second week). Hopefully, now the host is aware of the correct rules and it won't happen again.

The location was good. The apartment was clean. The wifi worked. The washing machine worked. The kitchen was fully equipped.

The following things were not provided and should have been. No welcome package with coffee and tea. No luggage rack. Not enough soap. No place to hold soap in shower. One small towel holder, not adequate. No surface area in bathroom. Inadequate supply of toilet paper. Very bland environment, nothing on the walls.

Very nice for our family vacation, 4 nights in Lisbon. Clean, comfortable and spacious apartment. Nice for a family of 4 to have 2 toilets. Great location, so many great spots to visit by foot.
