Penthouse with a view in the centre

The overall experience was really good. The apartment has a very local vibe and gives you the feeling of a Portuguese home. The process of getting in it was very easy as the hosts send us well in advance the instructions manual on how and where to find a lot of things regarding the apartment. There are a lot common areas which is nice if you travel on a group and the location is excellent.

The staircase up to the 4th floor was quite challenging. The apartment itself was a bit noisy (e.g. boiler). A lot of the door handles did not work properly so we can close easily the doors. There is a bit of a smell when all windows are closed in the apartment which might be coming from a pipe damage or stagnated water but I guess this is normal for houses that are not newly constructed.

The stay at the Penthouse with a view was very good, the apartment was perfect for group of 5. The place was clean, with all the facilities that we needed, the instruction was clean and we received information about restaurants, supermarkets and places around the apartment. There were some issues with the door and getting in but the host handled it and we got information about everything so we didn’t have to worry about it.

Of course the stairs are minor inconvenience but we knew about them and came prepared for climbing them every day. The shower was a bit for small and uncomfortable

Great communication and cosy ambient apartment with everything you need. We were grateful for fridge and washing machine over a 5 night stay.

The location was really good. The hosts also provided the necessary and important information about the neighborhood, such as metro stations, restaurants and parks. The kitchen was spacious and there was a big music speaker.

The biggest red flag about the place was the fact that there were bed bugs in the place. The first two nights we assumed that the itchiness is due to mosquito bites, then we have noticed that those were actually bed bug. We saw them in one of the rooms, on the pillow and the kitchen table. It was hard to sleep the last night due to bite exposure. We have notified the hosts about it, but no measures were taken, although we sent some pictures as proof. In addition to that, air conditioner was broken, so it was extremely hot in the apartment. We had to open the windows, but it was very noisy outside, so we didn't get much sleep. We were provided fans, but those didn't do much and were loud as well. We also had some troubles with water heating system.
