Penthouse with a view in the centre

Centrally located in downtown Lisbon

First, there’s no air conditioning!! The management told us to leave the windows opened…this would create a draft…bringing in cool air at night. Well, it was also bringing in all of the downtown city noises and the flies and odours from the outdoor restaurant located just in front of the building. We were told that there’s a fan…yes there was only one fan for 3 rooms…To sum it up, we could barely sleep in this apartment cause it was too hot , too noisy, and too much smell coming from the restaurant downstairs. I would definitely invite the management to come and spend a night here on a hot day in the summer on a Thursday or Friday night… Second, there’s no elevator! You’ll have to carry your luggage up 4 floors. That’s a total of 80 steps up. Third, the bathroom…omg…a small bathtub with a homemade shower curtain railing. The space is so small that the curtain would stick to your back when you shower. And how about the water? Sometimes it would take a few minutes for the hot water to come , and it would alternate a few times between hot and cold for no reason. And the sink…it was partially blocked so we had to be careful. I have more things to add but I’ll just keep them to myself.

Spacious, interesting, cool flat. Fantastic option in the heart of town. Quiet at night. Close to everything. Very central location. Easy to check in and out. Helpful tips by the owner. Amazing views over Avenida da Liberdade. Good value. I'm normally a bit fussy but this place is totally recommend.

Lack of lift to reach the top floor (where the flat is) is a minor inconvenience.

The location was superb for us. We were attending an event that had venues within a couple blocks of the apartment. And the service was exceptional, beginning with WhatsApp communication long before we arrived and continuing throughout our stay. Every question and concern we expressed was addressed, everything from the best place to get local cheese and meats to how to work the washer/dryer. The apartment was very homey and attractive, and the kitchen was adequately supplied.

Not something that can be fixed, but the 5 flights of stairs were a challenge, particularly with luggage. We were there for a week, and it did get easier by the time we left, but some people might find it very difficult. Also, the rooms have slanted ceilings as it's the top floor. We had to be careful in some areas not to hit our heads, particularly over the couch. We did have some bumping while we were there. Last, we found the beds rather hard, but that seemed to be typical of everyplace we stayed in Portugal. I guess no one sleeps on their side there. ;-)
