The Old Fire Station Ludlow

Breakfast was very good - I cooked it! Location very good for the town centre. Large kitchen. Nice welcome treats to greet us. Large dining table and comfortable furniture.

A couple of things which are unable to be altered but need to bear in mind: very steep stairs to enter the apartment, the three bedrooms upstairs are in parallel so people in the middle bedroom (2 single beds) have to go through one of the other bedrooms. Access to one of the bedrooms via a very narrow spiral staircase or through the other two bedrooms

Close to town and loads of room.

We are all old so we didn’t like the stairs but we did know about them beforehand.

The location was excellent for exploring Ludlow, walking to the farmshop, driving to Cardingmill Valley and visiting other black and white towns. It's a beautiful area. The flat was well equipped. Had 3 good bathrooms. Appreciated large table and seating areas. We had a good meal at The Angel which came highly recommended. Cafe at Farmshop also very good.

The upstairs layout was quirky and a bit of a surprise (although the pictures suggested that you would have to pass one bed to get to the twin room). The friends in the twin room were a bit wary of waking a friend up while going to the bathroom at night; however, it was okay and this was not a real problem.

From the very beginning, the owners were very helpful and informative. We were a family of eight who came together for someone's special birthday celebration. We spent two nights at The Old Fire Station. When we arrived it took quite a while to explore all the various rooms and areas at different levels. Our grandsons had a great time playing hide and seek. The seating areas were comfortable and gave everyone a little space when required. The large dining table came in handy for food, drink and board games. There were several TV's if we wanted to flop and just enjoy the place. The kitchen was spacious with everything we needed for our stay. There are four bedrooms. Three doubles and a twin room. There are two shower rooms and one bathroom all with constant hot water. The weather was a little chilly but we turned up the remote thermostat control and it warmed the whole apartment. We found the metal spiral staircase a fun way to gain access to our bedroom and shower room but people with mobility issues may struggle to get up and down. You can reach that bedroom via another route by passing through other rooms if required. On that point, there are stairs up from the ground floor to the property and stairs inside the property itself. It's just something to be aware of. The Old Fire Station is in a good location just a short walk to restaurants, takeaways and the castle. We all enjoyed our time here and would be happy to stay here again.

The lower floor bedroom has a double bed which the couple who slept in it said was a little small. Apart from that there isn't anything else that might be thought of as negative. Obviously there are the usual challenges of getting used to unfamiliar appliances but that's part of the fun.

Plenty of space for us. Very well equipped. Centre of town, very easy to walk to everything we wanted/ needed. Comfy and warm.

Nothing. An additional set of keys might be useful for larger groups though.
