Casa Beco Do Castelo

L'appartement est idéalement placé dans le quartier d'Alfama, tout près du Castelo Sao Jorge. Très propre, bien équipé, il est idéal pour un voyage seul ou à deux. S'il fait chaud l'appartement dispose d'une climatisation. L'appartement est dans une rue type du quartier, mais reste néanmoins très calme et presque sans incommodités. Attention néanmoins, l'accès n'est pas adapté aux personnes à mobilité réduite. L'appartement ne l'est pas non plus, il se situe au deuxième étage avec escaliers. Personnellement ce n'était pas un point négatif, ça n'a rajouté que du charme à mon séjour.

L'appartement étant dans un vieil immeuble, quelques inconvénients viennent avec. Notamment les bruits de pas du voisin du dessus à toutes heures du jour et de la nuit me concernant. D'autre part, prévoir des pinces à linge pour accrocher le linge dehors afin qu'il sèche, à l'intérieur c'est très long. Enfin, l'eau chaude peut ne pas durer très longtemps.

The upper neighbour is VERY loud, and especially during the evening and night. If you want to sleep, bring earplugs

The kitchen was well equipped. The location is great. 3 minute to the Center, 1 minute to nearby restaurants and 8 minutes to the castle. The host was very friendly and helpful.

The mattress was old and hard. Some kitchen utensils weren’t clean and the humidity in the room was very high. Drying the towels was quite hard. Could be the weather but maybe it’s just the climate.

Good communication with owner. Provided a welcoming package of a good red wine, sardines and crackers. Thoughtful. Good location to Lisbon sights with transport. Short downhill walk to the sea front. Restaurants, cafes and supermarket close to apartment. Boca D’Uva metres from stairway to apartment. Good wines. Other restaurants and cafes close by in the most unexpected places. Take steps almost opposite the stairway for a cafe and cocktails. Some restaurants may specialise in one particular food but may be disappointing in rest of menu. Rossio train station for Sintra train 15 minutes easy walk. Well equipped clean small kitchen. Good security. Shutters to screen out stairway light. Felt safe in this area. Lots of locals and tourists enjoying the night life. Satellite TV

Had to wait way too long for someone to arrive to admit us. Not the owner’s fault, we believe, but the agency hired to do the admission. Collecting city tax. If you are renting this apartment over another, like we did, because there was a washing machine listed in the amenities; there is NO washing machine. Laundry close by but read reviews. However, there is a line for hanging clothes outside the window but bring your own pegs.

CONS Chilly- small heater. Need another heater if temp in low 50’s/upper 40’s F (10 degrees C) Lots of stairs to walk up to get there. But escalators are near Martim Moniz metro station up to the same street. Take that if you're using the metro. Toilet leaked once but didn't seem to happen again.

The holst was very friendly and prompeted responce when I had to contact to get the keys. The apartment is very charming as it is located in the historian part of Lisbon. Location is exceptional walking distance from turist places, bar, very nice restaurants and supermarket.

The shower space was very small which you could accidentally hit the water temperature and it go to cold or to hot, which can be annoying when you have shampoo in your eyes.
