Absolutely nothing!!

The accommodation is in poor state, smells damp and in need of a good clean and updating (it looks sad) !! Busy, noisy and questionable area… location was ok once you had passed the drunks that sit on the steps drinking alcohol. Note to owner if you can’t provide a working hairdryer just don’t provide one at all! There was not enough basic crockery one bowl isn’t ideal for a couple staying there. No kettle and when we contacted the owner with a question we have still To date had a response, thank goodness we didn’t need them in an emergency! You really need to sort the amount of flies that also live in the accommodation with you. Light fitting hanging from the ceiling and the shower head bracket was missing so you had to hold the shower head to actually shower! Clearly no one goes in and checks the accommodation as this would have been addressed. Would we stay there again….. absolutely not!!!

The location is terrific. A few blocks from the best bruch you can imagine and a quick walk to the harbor, just off the main drag. A cheap Uber to anywhere you can't walk. Check in was easy. Anna and Theresa are the hostesses and they met us and were geat.

The apertment is very uncomfortable. The single bathtub took 30 minutes to empty after a shower or bath so for 4 people to bath took 1 1/2 hours instead of 30 minutes. Although we complained of this almost daily for our 8 day visit it was never repaired. The unit was hot and stuffy and very humid when the shower was used. Lisbon has wonderful refreshing breezes and this apartment is located on a corner where it should catch these breezes. Unfortunately there was a burglary at this unit (according to the hostess) and so the windows have been screwed shut in the bathroom (imagine how hot and humid it gets - and how moldy your towels smell after a few days). There is no exhaust fan. The other windows have a bracket and are hinged at the bottom that they only open a few inches at the top. Since the opening is at the top, if your want them open you can not use the blinds (which descend from the top) at all. So there is a lot of light from the bright street lamps to keep you awake also. I absolutely would avoid this place in the summer. Those are the main points of discomfort. I should mention that there are no walls or doors (good for airflow - if the windows opened) so there really is no privacy from the lower sitting/ sleeping area and the upper sleeping area. In addition there is really no place for 4 people to sit comfortable and enjoy a glass of wine. The kitchen only has 2 stools and the lower area has a sofa and 2 hard wooden chairs - but you would have to fold up the sofa bed to use this area. Altogether a very uncomfortable place to stay.
