Classic Lisbon Downtown Apartment

The location is amazing, Rossio station is only a few mins walk, there are restaurants, shops and markets within a couple minutes walk. The apartment is a great size for a party of 6. Access to the apartment is easy.

The apartment was quite musty and is in need of a deep clean. Our socks were black with dirt from the floors and carpets, large cobwebs in the corners, dusty furniture, and the sofas were are worn down. The main bathroom had an awful smell of sewage and the shower door was broken. We found small back insects in the bathroom, kitchen and dining table. I did inform the host of these issues, but they were not resolved.

Excellent location. We could do everything by foot. The hosts were fantastic and communication worked so well via WhatsApp. They also gave us great tips for breakfast places etc. The apartment is spacious and very comfortable with three separate bedrooms and two bathrooms. Large living room with multiple doors opening to the street view. Would definitely highly recommend. Top find !!!

Location is great and very near the metro. We enjoyed the area and could walk to many places too. The apartment has a quirky appearance though this belies the reality. The kitchen is quite well equipped. The showers are effective The host communicated well with detailed instructions for checking in and out and gave us recommendations for restaurants.

The furniture in the apartment is very uncomfortable and jaded. There is nowhere to sit in comfort. The couch and armchairs have seen better days and the dining chairs are fold up garden chairs. The door hinges could do with oiling to reduce the creaking. The noise from people walking around in the upstairs apartment is a real drawback. It means that the light fittings rattle when people are moving around or, on a couple of mornings when children were running around, it felt like they were in the apartment with us and meant early waking for us! The front bedroom has glass windows in the door so any lights switched on from the living room disturbs whoever is sleeping there. The door to the middle room needs to be left open as it is airless and dark. The back bedroom has an overpowering smell of spices though we adapted to it after the first night. That bed is comfortable but not the ones in the other rooms.

Gorgeous elegant historic home located in heart of old Lisbon

This was such an enchanting, classic apartment! My family and I wish we had stayed a couple of days more. There was a day when we didn't even want to leave home. The pictures provided are utterly accurate; the living room is amazing! There, you will find several board games and books (in English too). The place was very clean and organized. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We received full attention during the check-in process and could contact our host in case we needed anything. Needless to say, the place is located in the very heart of the historic center of Lisbon, so it's the perfect location. There's parking nearby, open 24 hours and very secure; you can even reserve your place beforehand by an app. In sum up, the apartment contributed to our visit to Lisbon to be a memorable occasion!

Actually, there was only one annoyance I can mention. And this one is something that some people might not particularly notice or care about. The case is that the apartment had a strong smell of spices like garlic and curry. It came more strongly from a particular room, which we kept closed all the time. Curiously, that room had no window, so I fail to understand why that particular room was the biggest source of smell in the house. What I did was to take many pillows from that room and sleep in the other available room, the one with two single beds. I didn't mind, as the room was even bigger, had a nice table with a mirror and an armchair, apart from a door to a balcony! The beds were equally comfortable, which I made even more by adding the extra pillows. My parents stayed in the main suite, and there the smell was more noticeable. In addition, they could not open the door or window, as it gave to the backyard of a restaurant with tables where people were sitting, eating. I would advise not even opening that door. As I said, most people probably wouldn't mind or even notice that much the food smell, but for us, it was quite an inconvenience. Luckily, there were two aromatic candles available, which we did not doubt to use! Apart from that, everything was perfect.

Located in the center of Lisbon with nice restaurants and walking streets. The apartment looks nice, but the superlatives stop there, because the listing contains false information, so please read the rest of our review of what we didn't like.

1. Weeks before check-in we asked the agency for information about the parking, but they insisted to give information only the day of check-in. We wanted to prepare and program our GPS before we were on the highway, but the host didn't care. Very unprofessional agent. 2. The listing advertises parking for 20 euros a day. We paid 124.60 Euros for the 3 nights we stayed there, and that was charged through Via Verde at the parking place which the host recommended, not through any "cash-only collector". 3. The accommodation advertises a 24hr reception. There is no reception. The host agency offers a Whatsapp account that was answered only at daytime, 11:00 to 18:00. And if we need help after 18? 4. We were on the street with 4 kids looking for the apartment when the agency bombed us with over 40 Whatsapp messages with instructions. 5. We entered the apartment, which was not marked with any AL sign or name, and thus probably not by law. We payed about 750 euros for three nights in September, but the host didn't offer as much as a bottle of water. 6. The cleaning was bad, found a used toothpick on the table, and popcorn on the carpet from previous guests. Our feet become dirty after walking on the floor. It had certainly not been cleaned properly for a while. No kitchen towel, no napkins or paper rolls. No possibility to wash clothes. No good way to clean baby's butts, no bidé, no water hose. 7. The AC in the living room is not working. 8. The inner bedroom is by the kitchen of a Indian restaurant, it smells carry and they do noisy dishwashing until late after midnight, so opening the window is not an option. 9. The quality of dining chairs and sofa is bad. The sofa is extremely uncomfortable as you are sitting on a metal frame of a sofa bed. The listing is clearly serving lies. Please be prepared. The locations is great if you want to be in the center of restaurants and museums, and the design of the apartment is nice. But it stops there.

Aesthetically beautiful. Ideal location. A large comfortable. Windows could exclude the street noise when trying to sleep but could open up to hear the busy pedestrian street below in the day.we loved this experience.
