Classic Lisbon Downtown Apartment

The communication was very positive and responsive, enabling us to deposit bags and carry on with our schedule in Lisbon, which we really appreciated. The location could not be more central - on a pedestrian street, but just round the corner from a road where you can hail an Uber. The apartment is classic, with traditional touches in the decor - it is not super modern, but it has real character. There is one bedroom with a double bed, air conditioning and en suite bathroom; a second bedroom that has a double bed; a third bedroom with two single beds; and a second bathroom across the living room (modern, great double shower, sometimes not the best smell but I am told this is determined by the river level - and that's not always fixable in old buildings). There are plenty of books and multiple doors onto the street to watch the world go by. We enjoyed our stay.

Air conditioning in the second and third bedrooms would be a great addition for the summer.

The smell is terrible. Before I made the booking I read the reviews, so I wasn't surprised. It's just a shame that many wrote that they were told they would fix it - and did nothing about it. The beds in the middle room are creaky and there is no window in one of the bedrooms. The floor creaks from every movement - I would recommend this apartment to a couple rather than a family, but then the price is not so worthwhile in my opinion. it really could be perfect if they fixed and improved it.

it was spacious and perfect for our family of 6 adults and 2 small children. The location was fantastic with lots of restaurants in the area. The hosts were very responsive and helpful and solved any issues we had very promptly.

The only thing that kept this apartment from being rated exceptional was a sewage backup odour in the front hall bathroom. The management said they would be taking care of it. A great location and a truly welcoming home. Spacious kitchen. Situated between Rossio and the river front. A short walk to either. Be aware that automobiles do not come to the door and you need to roll your luggage a short bit before carrying them up one flight of steps.

Great location in the centre of Lisbon in an older style apartment. Close to everything. Loads of local restaurants. Can be noisy - as expected in this location - but closing the windows is effective at keeping the noise out, so it is not a problem. Great size apartment on first floor for the five of us. Well equipped kitchen (although bring basics if plan to cook). Nice lounge room with lots of books (most in English!). Owners/operators were responsive to questions (although, use the phone number provided not the booking.com messaging service). We used WhatsApp,

Apartment is old and showing it. Needs a little TLC in places - but it has character! Of the three bedrooms, only one has a proper external outlook. The main bedroom has windows but looks out to an ally/building site. The smaller bedroom has no external windows. No A/C, but effective ceiling fans which we definitely needed, Longer stays may want more/better towels. There is an iron, but it has an English plug for some reason (adapters can be bought locally). The main bathroom has a smelly toilet (due to elderly plumbing one suspects - frequent cleaning made no difference).

Owner stopped communicating with me after inquiry about safety of the room - during first night there was a huge party upstairs, the whole apartment shaking. Resulting in falling ceiling fan glass cover in the bed of my son. Pieces of the glass everywhere.

Location cannot be beat. Lots of fans and pillows - hear were much appreciated.

A way to drop off bags would be great given checkin was later than expected and we were 7 of us with bags.

The place was right next to everything and we had plenty of room for a family of 4. The street noise did not bother us one bit and we are light sleepers:)

There was a moldy order the first day, but it is an old building. After airing the place out for a few hours, it was completely fine!
