New Apartment Bairro Alto

Wonderful and nice hosts. Small yet beautiful apartment. I had a wonderful stay in Lisbon .

We loved being based in a community. The apartment was cozy and safe. It was great to have the terrace. The layout of the apartment was good. The host, David, was friendly and extremely helpful. We found 3 superb tavernas within a street or two of the apartment. Truly authentic Portugues cuisine!

The coffee machine wasn't clean. The crockery did not appear to be for the sole use of the rental. The shower drain was slow to clear. One unfortunate issue we found in Lisbon was the smell of the drains and sewage in the streets. This sadly came through in the apartment, too. It would be worth mentioning in the overview a few parking areas nearby. The roads in and around this neighborhood are not easy to walk due to uneven cobblestone and steep inclines. The stairs to the apartment are narrow and steep. It would be useful to have a directory of transport links and maps (Grayline, Red Top Bus, trams, metro, etc), restaurants, areas of historical interest, miradouros and shopping in the area.

Great location. A few blocks from the tram line and a 10min walk to the train to Cascais and metros. We fetched the key from David's parents, Victor and Anna, at their Cafe around the corner. Victor settled us in and we had regular coffees at his Cafe.

The shower doesn't drain well, and the provision of a dishcloth in the kitchen would make it easier to keep things tidy.

I did like the location & the apartment, and I would definitely stay here again.

The pillow could've been more fluffy & larger, and bed more comfy.
