Grandmommy's House - Traditional and comfy Lisboan apartment

Great location in a pleasant district of the city, away from the tourist pressure but with plenty of good restaurants nearby and access to public transport with a short walk. The owner was very helpful with tips on places to visit nearby.

One of the rooms is a connecting room which means the person staying in that one has to go though the master bedroom to go to the bathroom or other parts of the house. This would be fine for families but a bit awkward for a party of friends.

Everything was great, we recommend accommodation in this facility to everyone. We are particularly delighted with the kindness of the hosts.

Very nice and traditional in a lovely old part of Lisbon

Good location to walk to town and tourist areas. Joao met us on arrival and showed us about the apartment and where everything was located. The house was beautifully decorated complete with Christmas tree in the corner. The apartment was very clean and comfortable with good heating on a cold night. The street was quiet with minimal noise. We would definitely stay here again should we return to Lisbon

The only suggestion would be to add some things to the kitchen eg there is a coffee machine but no filters, there was no basic coffee and tea facilities for the first night when we arrived reasonably late. I would also suggest that given there is a washing machine, a clothes rack for drying would be good when is is raining outside so clothes can not be hung on the line. These suggestions are minimal and did not alter the enjoyability of the stay

The owner who handed us the keys was very nice. He explained the operation of the apartment and also sent us a briefing by email. We really liked the story of this accommodation that he shared with us. He was witty :-) and his welcome was luxurious. The apartment has a large terrace. The great advantage is the very good location of the accommodation.

There was not enough storage space in the apartment ( even for a short stay). There were pillows, sheets in the cupboards and it was no possibility to put personal belongings in them. The beds creaked and are narrow.

In general the house is fair for the price, there is a small shop just in front of the door which you can buy water. Environment is quiet, very good for sleeping. The chicken stuff is complete and ready for cooking.

The bed is a little bit small, though I'm quite a survivor, my friends are picky on the beddings

Our host Joao was so friendly and helpful. He met us to give keys but also helped us secure on-street parking for the weekend. He provided a short video of the main features of the apartment so we could look back at any time and he was available for questions. The property was spacious and clean.

You can see that they are updating this home in phases as there was lots that was fresh and new. The one drawback was the beds/mattresses were quite tired and needed to be replaced.
