"Great stay - shame about the apartment"

The location of the property is excellent, right in the middle of the centre of Lisbon. Plenty of restaurants, supermarkets available in the area. Good public transport links, the property is within 15 minutes walk away from major train station, metro lines, buses and trams. The apartment is in an old building, we liked the layout and traditional features.

Overall the property could do with refreshing the paintwork and a thorough cleaning in some places (eg under and behind the bed which was covered in thick dust). There seems to be an ongoing issue with the front door - looking back at the earlier reviews this is has been a problem for some time. People come in to the property, smoke on the stairs and the communal staircase smells like a homeless shelter. This was really disappointing and made us feel uneasy at times. There were dead cockroaches in one of the cupboards. We also felt that the bed linen was not clean / washed properly. We messaged the host and it is a real shame that we received a dismissive response. Due to these issues we did not sleep well the first night and it had a negative impact on our stay. It is unfortunate that we encountered these problems - it would have been a perfect stay.

Superb location for everything Lisbon has to offer. Clean and comfortable. It was so much more than just a base. Host was contactable and brilliant.

Central location and design of the appartment.

Bedrooms without real windows. Only one key for three people. No light for kitchen area. Although they were not threatening when we walked out as a group, I would not have felt comfortable as a woman walking alone in the immediate area. So many homeless refugees from Africa were a little uncomfortable. Cockroaches need to be dealt with properly. No recycling info in flat. Top showers didn’t work in either bathroom.
