MyPlaceLisbon - Alfama River View Apartment

Antonio was a super nice host. I know it was an inconvenience to come early to let us drop our luggage, but he did that, and the next evening he returned to help us operate the TV. The television had the most channels of anyplace we have stayed in Portugal and Spain (even American football--in German!). The apartment has a great location, and overlooked the quaint tramlines, and it was comfortable and charming.

Just a warning, which after Lisbon's steep cobbles will not come as a surprise, but the stairs in the entry of the apartment are very steep, as are the stairs up to the 2nd bedroom in the loft. I could not get the heater in the loft to work. Also, I couldn't get one of the living room lights to work, as well as the ones on the bathroom mirror. In addition, the couch had some stains which should be cleaned. Finally, about those tramlines, they seemed to clang and bang all through the night, so that might be something to consider.

The photos of this apartment are not comparable, it’s quite shabby and in need of updating especially the bathroom which wasn’t cleaned, the stairs leading up are very steep and uneven which could be a problem for older people!

The apartment wasn't luxurious but it had everything I needed and I loved the fabulous view. It was fun being on the 28 tram route and my day stated and finished with tram sounds! Although the streets around this popular part of alfama can be very noisy the noise dies right down after 10pm and the double glazing was very effective. There is air conditioning although I didn't need it as the temperature was oerfect in October. It was very central and I walked everywhere to explore this beautiful city.

The stairs up to the apartment were very steep so it wouldn't suit everybody. The two doors were sometimes a little awkward to open until you got the hang of them!

No sheets for bed settee. Quilt smelt musty. Very discoloured off putting shower mat

Location was great, clean and had everything we needed. Close to good restaurants and bars, tram right outside.

Very dated, and needs a refresh. Electical socket hanging out of wall. Bad smell from bathroom - had to keep door to bathroom and kitchen closed. Tram running past at 5:15 am was noisy. Stairs are exceptionally steep and difficult to carry heavy luggage. Pictures on booking do not reflect the current state of the apartment. Not good vakue for money paid.
