Oxfordshire Living - The Alice Apartment - Oxford

The apartment was visually appealing, not cluttered and well equipped. It was modern, bright, spacious and clean. The apartment building was also well cared for and attractive, with wide corridors.

The one big drawback was the location of the corner apartment on the first floor directly above a lively pub, the Swan and Castle, with outside tables. The pub was open until midnight and 1am (Thursday - Saturday). Even with double glazed windows and ear-plugs the noise from youthful customers outside the pub was disturbing. We actually appreciated the rain because it meant less people outside. We would have appreciated information about the exact location of the apartment, in the ad, the same way hosts lists stairs for those with mobility issues.

Yes as other reviewers say noise from Wetherspoons below can carry upwards, but it stopped promptly at 11.

Apartamentul este situat deasupra unui pub foarte popular in oraș,mai sees printre adolescenți. Este gălăgie pana la orele 12-1 noaptea!

Great location. Fans provided as it was very warm and humid. Well provisioned.

Can get quite noisy at night time with the bar downstairs, but it wasn't an issue for us because we knew there was a bar downstairs before we booked.

Everything with this stay was really easy and well organised. I loved the apartment and it felt like home. It is close to everything!

I liked the comfy feel of the property, a home from home for our few nights away for a theatre show. Plenty of cushions and blankets and towels provided. Host was super fast replying to my booking, making us feel at ease straight away. We had zero problems and felt reassured that we could easily contact the host if we needed to. Would 110% stay again if back in Oxford 😁

The only small downside was the noise from the pub below - other reviewers were accurate that you only hear the noise of people as they enter/leave or stand outside. You 100% cannot hear any noise from any other flats above nor from the pub internally. So nothing ear plugs didn't fix for myself.

Location was really great. Was there for a conference at Oxford, and it was easy to get around, and the place was very close to lots of shopping. Also loved how hosts included washing machine and dishwasher detergent!

It got too hot and stuffy in the bedroom at night. The bed only had a blanket and no sheet -- maybe that's a UK thing? But it was too hot with the blanket on, and it would have been great to use just a sheet to sleep under. Yes, the place is right above the Swan & Castle Pub, but that didn't bother me.
