Picton Country Hideaway

It is spacious, bright, tastefully furnished and in excellent condition. The hosts were helpful and responsive. Every view out the windows was of green space and lovely hills. Very quiet and rural but only minutes from Picton or Blenheim. WIFI and TV worked great. Host let me harvest a couple of fresh eggs from the henhouse.

The only thing that might have been more convenient was some kind of cooktop instead of an air fryer unit. But with the microwave and kettle I did everything I needed to, and the host offered the use of their outdoor grill.

The cottage was spacious and clean and there was a hot tub/ pool for our use. The bed was very comfortable. The host was very nice.

The provided wifi was very poor and erratic. As well it was impossible to get any signal on either one of our cell phones in most locations in the cottage, so we were unable to do anything online or communicate by phone during our stay. We were told by someone who tried to call us that the phone simply cutout when they dialed our number. The listing advertised breakfast but the supplied breakfast materials consisted of two slices of bread per person, some open spreads, dry cereal and milk. There was no yogurt, no cheese, no eggs and no meat. You could not make ice in the fridge.

I could not rate this accommodation more! A lovely rural relaxing stay. We travelled with our 2 dogs which on other trips has been made stressful but this was bliss no issues at all! The hosts were amazing super nice and accommodating, we really didnt want to leave and this will definitely be our go to for all our future trips up this way from now on.

Easy check in, comfortable and it was great being able to stay with our dog.

A cooling system would be beneficial in high summer.

Great overnight stop prior to catching the ferry in the morning. Ann even let us use her washing machine and dryer.
