The Coach House, Clifton and Parking - Hopewell

Location and gated in a nice area.

Location was superb, close to the city but far enough away from busy noisy roads and pollution so we had a nice quiet sleep. Parking was gated and very secure next to the apartment. It was stylish with a bedroom in the mezzanine, cozy enough for two and everything we needed including a well equipped kitchen. We also had a visit from a very polite local cat who happily sat on my lap for a while but left promptly when asked (it knew I was a cat person 😻). Overall it served as a great base for our city break. We will definitely come back.

The lighting was all on one circuit so couldn’t light the downstairs without the bedroom and stair lights simultaneously. The lighting from the stairs was so bright that the lounge area was too dazzling. A lamp would have been great in the lounge and a night light at the bottom of the stairs in order to visit the bathroom in the night. We don’t watch television but if we had wanted to then the settee would have to be moved in order to see it.

The location was superb in a quiet residential area but still very close to the bustle of Clifton village and the secure parking space was a real bonus (if a little tight for a big car). The house was spacious and clean with nice touches like coffee/tea/milk provided. The house is really cute and quirky in layout.

There was an unfortunate smell of drains which built up in the bathroom and the window didn't open, nor did the extractor fan work. In fact I couldn't open any of the windows in the property which led to a slightly clammy, musty feel. It was late September and cool in the evenings/overnight but I couldn't get any heating to come on. There are quite a few level changes on the ground floor which could be a bit hazardous for some people. Most of the windows are frosted/obscure glass which is great but the kitchen window is clear glass with no blinds so no privacy from overlooking windows - especially at night.

clothes wardrobe bit musty.

Awesome location with parking. Quirky layout but plenty of space. Good size kitchen and bathroom for short stay.

Bathroom smells awful. Shower drains need cleaning and better extraction/ventilation needed. Storage cupboards/wardrobes full of clutter and housekeeping goods and all smelt damp making clothes smell musty in just two days.

Fab location, really lovely little apartment, perfect for a little break away, was clean, tidy and comfy and had everything we needed, would stay again :-)
