the roads to the accommodation are terrible. also no mosquito netting

I can't think of anything. Genuinely the wortst accomodation experience I have ever had. To the point that we didn't stay and found somewhere else.

Building work on the property There was extensive building work being carried out at the property. The hotel entrance is currently just a banner hanging from parts of the building work. The building work had around 20 people on site when we arrived. There were a number of problems created from this: There was constant loud noise coming from the works including repetitive banging/hammering and machinery engines which made it unfit to stay at the accommodation. There was also a significant amount of building materials strewn across the accommodation site that was unsafe for us to walk across. There was a lot of dust and smells coming from the building site that was at the least unpleasant and potentially unhealthy / unsafe. The Room Our room had a number of issues including: The 'garden view' and 'pool view' consisted of a breeze block wall, a pile of rubble and a pile of wood The was no 'barbeque' in the room/apartment There were dirty footprints throughout the apartment and terrace Bedding for both beds was dirty. One had several human hairs as well as dead and living insects. The other had a yellow stain. They were both heavily creased. They appeared to have been made since the last use but not changed. The private pool was filthy and covered in rubbish The Facilities There were several issues with the facilities of the hotel including: The pool was filthy. Leaves accumulating on the top is understandable, but the bottom of the pool was covered in greed mould or algae. A very different image to what was presented on booking.com. There were several what appeared to be abandoned rooms or storage facilities with doors hanging off and covered with rubbish and dangerous tools or machines.

the manager, staff and lake were lovely

Difficult to get to, no staff at all when arrived. Wandered around the grounds multiple times looking for someone to understand how to check-in. They have a local dog which is lovely but tries to "save" you if it sees you swimming, so it jumps in and then throws itself on top of you whilst swimming... not exactly relaxing
