HUGE apartment with up-to-date amenities. The washing machine is an absolute sweet spot for long term travelers like myself. The kitchen comes fully equipped with a gas stove(a must for home chefs). The living quarter is separated by a long hallway, so you dont have to hear your partner watching TV.

There was a bit of a discussion shared by the owner, booking.com, and myself on the issue of city tax. The booking.com mediated the situation by stating that there needs to be a clear direction by the owner of the additional city tax being asked at the check-in, which I agree. However this wasn't an escalated issue as I was more than happy to pay the required tax. As for the concerns, we were lucky that the upstairs neighbours kept it quiet at night and I am sure that's usually the case. But the soundproofing is, as others have stated, non existent. A pair of good earplugs are mandatory if you are a light sleeper like me.

This host was not in the same country as the other two hosts we stayed with in Portugal. No advice regarding getting to the apartment from the train station, which we took a taxi. (on the return we walked). The property is in a more residential area on a main road, which was quite noisy - with cars and bikes. There is a school nearby too. We messaged the host, and was told to meet them at the apartment. When we got there, we waited around 20 mins for her to come to the door - which is fine. Basic information provided, but she did promise to send some links. We were not asked for ID documents or to sign any forms, but did leave our city tax - again not a problem. There was no guest book etc. The apartment was clean and furnishings were ok. There was no obvious fire blanket in the kitchen, extinguisher - nor any of the obvious 'tourist' info the other Portugese properties displayed. There were 2 TVs, 1 in the bedroom and 1 in the lounge, both only had channels 1 - 7 - no cable, which was not as advertised. The property was some distance walk downhill to the town and facilities - and information was sparse. The apartment soundproofing is not good - from above we heard a baby crying, toilet being used above and scraping chairs - all acceptable-ish in apartment living. However, the second afternoon, we returned about 4pm - having been out all day - weather poor - to a drilling noise from upstairs which lasted for over an hour and half, before we were forced to leave the apartment because it was so loud and unbearable. We asked the host about noise, maintenance etc and she responded that 22:00 was the cut off point. On our return at 6pm, it was at least quiet. The next morning however, around 9, the noise started again - like a jack hammer vibrating down the walls. We sent a msg again, stating that in our opinion, the apartment should not have been let, with that level of noise as a holiday let. No answer was received. We left early.

Noise, facilities, no Cable, not as described, hosting poor, area, location. Not worth the cost - would not use or return

I traveled with my family for two weeks in Portugal, and I can say with certainty - it was the most comfortable and cozy apartment.

Nice comfortable apartment which had all the amenities we required. It is excellent value for money and has the best restaurant In Coimbra underneath. The bathroom has just be renovated and was much better than expected from the photos.

The internet was slow and frequently dropped out

WiFi was a little temperamental, it seemed to drop out at various times.

It was a very steep mile and a bit uphill back from town. The soundproofing in the building the was very poor. You could hear every move from upstairs,- compounded by them having very noisy building work start at 8 am on day two. (Obviously that is unlikely to happen for most guests!)

The complicated check-in method. The listed phone number for the property owner never works. The property owner rarely replies to messages after check in (neither e-mails, nor phone calls). To get answers to the messages through booking.com I always had to call the app customer service to have them contact the owner and ask her to reply (awful waste of time) And when she does reply, it's always late. The lack of consideration with travelers coming from overseas (not acknowledging that we don't have a phone with internet while in Portugal, and yet expecting the customer to call in to get checked in. Even when I managed to call, they would not pick up the phone. When I was at the property at the arrival hour I announced, there was no one to answer the cytophone at the building door or to let me in. I was about to leave after waiting a long time, when a man opened the door and let me in. He even forgot to collect the city tax, and, on the last day, after I checked out, the owner COULD finally contact me only to ask me to go back to the apartment and pay the 2EUR city tax. This was a very poor customer service experience and very unfortunate for a nice facility.

The cleanliness and great attention of Mariana and Isabel. The beds are quite comfortable. Spaciousness of the apartment. It has a central location. I would highly recommend this apartment without any hesitation.
