Camoes Apartment by Atlantic Holiday

The apartment is beautiful, conveniently situated in the tourist center of Funchal, within walking distance to the historical center. There are three comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms, one balcony in the front, one in the back. A large comfortable living room, well equiped kitchen with a fridge, an oven, a hotplate and basic utensils. There is a room with a washing machine and a sink, a clothes horse, everythink one can dream about when travelling and staying somewhere for a longer period. Well equiped first aid kit is available to, I was simply impressed. The fla can be aseily reached by lift. There is also a parking place in the basement, which we didn´t use. There is a buss stop in front of the building with a convenient connection to several attractive tourist destinations on the island like Monte or The Valley of The Nuns. Another bus stop only 30-40 meters away in front of the Savoy Palace hotel with very frequent buses to the center if one doesn´t want to take the 15 minutes´ walk. If I wanted to live in Funchal, the flat would a good choice I think.

Unfortunately the flat was not cleaned at the time of arrival, there were dirty towels in the bathrooms and dirty bed linen on the beds, the floor wasn´t clean either and there was a bag with rubbish in the kitchen. It was a shock for me though I am used to improvise, but the situation was even worse this time because I travelled with my old mother. I called to the property owners, but nobody answered the phone. I called the support of Booking but they couldn´t reach the owners either. I took photos of status quo and sent them to the owners via WhatsApp and then I received an apology and two cleaning ladies came and cleaned the apartment thoroughly. I got finacial compensation both from the owner and Booking, that gave me credit points for future use.

Spacious, comfy apartment with everything you need. It was great having two bathrooms! Not too far from the centre of Funchal.

Could hear some noise from the apartment above but it wasn't terrible. The apartment is by a busy road so sitting out on the balcony isn't peaceful but again wasn't much of an issue for us

The apartment is very spacious and it has a lot of sunlight! It had all the amenities you'll need for a week stay. Location is just right, only 20mins of walking to the city centre and for Funchal it was not that steep to get to the centre. The agency was very pleasant and helpful regarding all our questions, I would definitely recommend this apartment!

Getting to the garage parking space is a bit tricky due to the garage layout, eventually we parked on the street parking nearby. It would have been nice to have some shelves in the bathroom for keeping your stuff while showing

Had the basic necessities in the house, spacious rooms, lounging area, balcony and a parking spot. About a 30 minute walk from old town, so not too far. Good price for Madeira.

Had to collect and drop off keys from the office lockbox which is a 25 minute walk up a steep cliff (very inconvenient if you do not have a car or if you cannot get a taxi or are running short on time). Sewer smell midway through the day when we would enter the home. Parking spot in a tight corner, be very careful with a rental car.

Location, big enough floor space, parking spot included under the building (even though be careful not to gave a suv), responsive hosts.

Really squeaky bed in the second bedroom. Two towels only per person for 7days of accomodation. Price kind of too high for what it offers. The checkin is too late and the retrival of the key was made from another (kinda far) location.
