Apartamentos Funchal by Petit Hotels

Our stay at the Apartamentos by Petit Hotels in Funchal was wonderful. The location was excellent, right in the city center, making it easy to reach the market, the bus station (a local pick-up point), the cable car, and boat trips. We also greatly appreciated the quiet and safety of the area.

Our stay at the apartment in the center of Funchal, Madeira, had several issues that affected our experience. The room was smaller than advertised on Booking.com – it was supposed to be 35 m² but felt much smaller. The biggest problem, however, was the unpleasant smell coming from the drain, which we couldn't ventilate. The room had no window and no terrace. Even though there was a terrace, there was a wall behind it, so we had no chance to get any fresh air. All of this significantly reduced the comfort of our stay.

I liked the fact that it was central, it was spacious and had a well equipped kitchen.

The lift didn’t work, they had construction works going on every day, since early in the morning and the lack of the air conditioning.

Conviently located in the old part of Funchal, however it is very noisy with vehicle & pedestrian traffic untill 1AM. A fan was delivered & during our 7 day stay ( 4 days too many IMO), the housekeeper cleaned & changed towels

No parking, no A/C, no windows. You must open the French doors to get any ventilation, subjecting you to all the street noise & smells. Thread bare, unraveling towels. No coffee maker, no microwave. Bulb in the 1 floor lamp flickers giving headaches Bathroom exhaust fan & door did not operate It is very difficult to find. Manager- Daniel graciously met us & led us to apt., explained the 3 different security door codes & parking garage several blocks away-€15/ day. The 6 day a wk construction next door should have been revealed or at least given a discount off the rate. 2 junkies were shooting up under a table of the closed cafe outside the bldg gate. That did it for me.

The host was very helpful and attentive. The apartament was as described and the location was perfect. Very clean apartament with an easy access to tourist attractions.

Everything was good, the spacious apartment, quiet room, cleanliness, the location was perfect with a restaurant in front of the Hotel. The kithen was fully equipped.

We loved everything.
