The Beach House Apartment

The location was superb! I loved being a stones throw from the Botanical Gardens and the waterfront. The view from the living room was gorgeous and the queen bed in the main bedroom (which was the only one used) was wonderfully comfortable. I also appreciated having a garage to park my car in. The couch in the living room was comfortable and the cleaning products adequate.

* The kitchen was more outdated than I expected and it took 4 mugs before I found one without stains (I often drink plain hot water so it matters to me). The floor in the kitchen also felt a little sticky though appeared perfectly clean. * The bathroom though clean, smelt like bleach (not a pleasant smell - something that could be easily rectified. I love Tri Natures Spagnum Moss Disinfectant) and the second bedroom smelt like ripe bananas which was bizarre. Hand towel that was provided had a stain but otherwise of good quality - thank you. The 3 in 1 shampoo, body soap, hand soap seemed a bit average but perhaps it was sufficient. I was glad I had brought my own. * The lights in the living room that had a dimmer option flickered or strobed when turned to full brightness so there was no option for reading a book in the evening. * The fun looking egg chair on the front porch that I initially considered an option for enjoying the evening light actually had a hole in the wicker seat area. I'm only 53kg but I was not game to try. * The sealant in the kitchen table was also soft so plates felt like they were sticking. I looked for placements but couldn't find any. It was just disconcerting as I worried I might damage the surface (though it seemed fine in the end). * The wardrobe in the main bedroom had stuff in it making it hard to hang the garments I brought for an event I was going to. It also smelt a little musty.

I requested an early check-in, but unfortunately the host refused
