Rumali Farm & Cottage

The peace and quiet were so needed. Being from CPT the trip,eventho a bit long was what we needed as a family.

Just a pity that it is quite far from any shops. Other than that nothing...

Clean and well equipped. Spacious end well layed out. Would be able to spend a week here just to rest and relax.

Loved everything

Everything about the place was perfect,the location the house itself,the quiteness,the surroundings,everything inside the house was perfect.The bed we slept in,was nice and soft.You even had mosquito nets on the beds.We will definitely come again.

I can honestly say,that there was nothing that I could find wrong.it was home away from home.

I loved the rustic cottage that used to be a barn. I loved that I could jog around the vineyards and olive orchards. The tranquility of the cottage is like a warm embrace. The Keisie valley is absolutely beautiful.

Female traveling alone so was concerned with a 15cm opening above the shower. The Cottage is a converted barn with a slanted metal roof. The host however gave me reassurance and showed what was behind the wall which was a staff store room with a closed ceiling. A staff member assisted me by cutting wood the first evening and I tipped him. He came back everyday to check if I needed anything and I declined. At One time when the car just stopped at the cottage he came around and unfortunately saw me in toilet as I kept the front door and toilet door open. I had Wzup communication with the host so there was no need. The water has an odor so would be nice to keep a small bottle of water for guests just for the first night as the shop is about 20kms away in town. Few days before my arrival I inquired about DSTV and was advised its a smart TV and I just need to provide own DSTV login details. I purchased a monthly DSTV stream as I did not want to miss rugby. Upon checking It turns out that there is full prime DSTV access for every cottage and the host was not aware of it. The cottage was changed before my arrival without notifying me. I got a Wzup stating I will be in “Fynbos” cottage but I checked in “Olyf”. No explanation was given by host. Would be nice to provide a dishcloth and dishrag as I had to use the dishwasher for a few items which was a waste of energy and water. Beware if you are a light sleeper, as the cottage is right by the pond there is nocturnal birds and frogs sounds through the night.

The smell of chemicals in the water. But we do understand.

I loved the serenity of the location, surrounded by natural beauty . The cottage was tastefully furnished and very clean and had everything we needed for a self catering stay. I also loved the little touches in the cottage supplied by the host to make guests feel welcome.

I loved everything except for the smell of the water. It takes a while to get used to. Its a good idea to bring along your own drinking water.
