Rumali Farm & Cottage

Brought my girlfriend here for her birthday weekend, away from the usual hustle and bustle of our everyday lives and it's exactly what we got. We both loved the tranquility of the area, and enjoyed our morning cups of coffee on the porch overlooking the dam with stunning views of the mountain and sunrise/sunset. The host also went over and above to keep us updated, provide some extra supplies, and just to check in on us. Thank you Linda!

We were so impressed! It was so aesthetically appealing and everything was in place. The owners are such kind people. We are definitely going back very soon!

The views were great! Very accommodating, can even bring your furry friends, which we will definitely do next time we book! The pool has beautiful views all around. Amazing experience. 👏 The smell of the warm water is part of the farm experience, and we embraced it 🤪

The house has a pleasant garden and plenty of space. The water smell was not as bad as I would expect. Montagu is a nice village and the springs are great for a day of fun with the kids.

We did not find the house comfortable: we found it to be not very clean; the main bathroom has a strong odor of mothballs, most probably to hide some other bad smells, but it makes it unbearable; all beds have plywood under the mattress (instead of actual bed slats) meaning that it does not breath and gets humid and mold prone. For my personal taste the house has too much stuff (decoration pieces, old magazines), leaving no space for you to put your own things. There were plenty of flies and it was impossible to kill them or control their entrance. Plenty of other insects too, but this I believe is unavoidable, since it is a farm.  Last, the hosts have wood bags for the barbecue available at an extra charge. The issue is that the wood is wet! So impossible to actually make a fire with it... when you are away from town and planned to cook dinner for your kids, it is unpleasant to say the least. Only met the owner on our way out, she came to ask us to leave since it was 10h30 and check-out  is set for 10h00.  Taken all together this was a bad experience that came as a surprise. Mostly because we had seen the score on the Booking website and believed that this was a well taken care for place.
