Please note dogs can be accommodated by prior arrangement at a cost of GBP 20 for up to a week, payable in cash on arrival. To find Near Howe Cottages, if using a Sat Nav, please use the postcode CA11 0SZ and the turn off to Near Howe is slightly further down on the right hand side. From the East (North and South) - Penrith and the M6 Traveling West on A66 from the M6 Motorway (Junction 40) • Continue 8 miles towards Keswick when you pass the turnoff to Troutbeck (A5091) • Continue for approximately 1 mile and take the next right hand turn signposted Mungrisdale and Caldbeck • Continue for approximately 1 mile to the sign for Near Howe is on the right hand side of the road • The drive way crosses two fields, and then rises past an old ruin up to the top of the hill where you will find the property A deposit may be required at the property.

The views!! Warm and cosy accommodation!

The only thing was the drive up , quite steep. Would be better if it was tarmac but it is sheep land , that’s the only issue we had

"Amazing, tranquil break away"

This property has everything and more that you need for a relaxing break away. So peaceful and quiet. The views are amazing. Plus it is a very dog friendly property, with a field to walk the dogs in beautiful surroundings. The hosts were friendly and on hand if you needed anything.

"A tranquil and peaceful haven"

Outside of and away from the hustle and bustle of mainland Lake District. Exactly what it was advertised as being, peaceful and tranquil. The place was in a fantastic setting under the mighty Blencathra. The apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed to cater for a full weekend away.

There was nothing I didn't like.

"Wonderful base to visit the lakes"

Close proximity to Ullswater, Derwent water, pet forendly and little things like washing up liquid, biscuits, milk, toiletries, tea towels and as much kitchenware as at home.

Would have preferred a 2 seater sofa to 2 separate chairs but that shows how picky we'd have to be to fault it.

"Perfect Stay 😊"

This is the 2nd time we've stayed. We absolutely love it, it's perfect. It's so clean, amazing views, shower and a bath (amazing after a long day on mountains), spacious - plenty of radiators for wet clothes and room downstairs to leave boots ect so not taking up the living space. The bed is amazingly comfy and big! A field out front for the dogs to have a wander about too 😊 The Northern Western Fells on the doorstep and about 10 mins (if that) from Keswick! It's a little gem & we will be heading back. Thankyou Mark & Fiona 😀

Theres nothing not to like about this place!
