Penrith Retreats

Excellent self contained apartment, everything you need…just bring your food! Very clean, quiet and a comfy bed. Location is somewhat unconventional; however, it’s a case of don’t judge by first appearances, I found the actual apartment very pleasant and just right for a couple of day’s exploring the hills. You collect the keys from a wall safe, you don’t see anyone on site. It’s about 5mins by car to Penrith for supplies and about 20mins drive to Keswick and 40mins to Seathwaite if you’re looking to tackle Scafell Pike, as I did…I would use Penrith Retreats again as a base for future hikes.

A little out of the way, but fine if you’re driving. Location can be a little confusing if arriving in the dark, just make sure you have read the instructions and have your key code ready!

Apartment was clean tidy and had everything we needed

The outside of the apartment was not attractive and abit eerie in the dark as there was no lights

Clean, tidy, great facilities in kitchen, nice touches of coffee and washing up items.

Location - unfinished dilapidated building next door, converted office block. Excessive sound from other rents property. Could hear every footstep and talking.

The accom' was excellent, the hostess was too, views were great.

No illumination at the entrance door--this is only constructive criticism for your info it was pitch black and i tripped over the first night in the darkness at the door. The carpark is far enough away in the rain but hey ho nowhere is perfect- i only normally have 2 main requirements-a clean bed and accomodation + a good shower and bathroom both of these were excellent and above expectations
