MJ Room Rental

Large bungalows, incredibly kind helpful family/host, very comfortable bed and pillow, super clean. Location is a little ways from the centre but it was perfect for me as I like to be away from the busy city and in the quiet and residential areas. They rent scooters here for your convenience.

In previous reviews I had read concerns about roosters, dogs and people having fun nearby. But this is normal and I’m used to it, nothing good ear plugs can’t fix. Excellent stay, you will be happy you chose this place

Good value for money. Hosts were very welcoming, they also had many lovely friendly dogs residing at the property. Nice location. Strong AC Separate shower room and toilet room. Hosts helped us arrange transport to the airport. Shops nearby within walking distance.

The “rooms” are spacious. The prices are affordable, the cabins spacious and the mattresses comfortable. There is a kitchen and mini fridge for use. Very convenient motorbike rental at the property, good price and quality.

We did not experience what the other reviewers seemed to have experienced and were quite disappointed. The reviews were overwhelmingly positive and we can only conclude that came down to the friendliness of owners (which we didn’t really get as MJ forgot we were arriving) and the cost. - MJ and those looking after the property were very kind. The shop owner was especially friendly and helpful with the motorbike rental! MJ also organised a Tuktuk for us to get to the port and it was very punctual, which was very appreciated. - We were not very welcome as they had fully forgotten about our reservation. This means no one gave us any briefings/was there to help us get to a restaurant or scavenge for some food and means of transport. We had to go ask for wifi passport etc. Water would’ve been lovely as a welcome as there was none to be seen on the premises (though there is a shop next door) - Please be warned that this is like camping/essentially has no walls, which there is nothing wrong with!! But if you’re a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. We had roosters, dogs barking, neighbours playing loud music and having friends over. I did not get more than two hours of sleep, even with earplugs that I’d brought. (Who knew dogs and roosters could get this loud, I certainly didn’t) - As per above, there are essentially no walls - we had lizards, cockroaches, a bunch of flies at night, mosquitoes. There were loads of ants and a big cockroach in the bathroom. - The dogs on the premises are well trained and very friendly! - There is no AC. It gets very very hot though a fan is provided. - The room had quite visible dust in many places, it did not feel clean anywhere - Please note this location is not at all central/close to restaurants etc. If you don’t rent a motorbike/cannot rent one, I would say this is not the most convenient choice. - I can imagine backpackers really liking this!

The owner was very accommodating! We had no any problems encountered while on the property. She even calls tricycle drivers if we need one. Answering and tending to our request. We had an easy stay. Thank you Ma'am! and I just want to mention their cute dogs! I love them hehe.

The host offered tour service at a very good price and personally took us to the attractions. Our stay was very convenient. I must have been very demanding with my requests since I started planning about the start of March and the trip was at the end of March but MJ understood how I need to be throuogh with my plans since it was hard to travel with 3 kids and my mom. She made everything happen, especially the fireflies and cave visit. She was very patient with my requests and gave suggestions for whenever I was unsure about my itinerary. It was Good Friday and was very hard to find an open restaurant so she made sure to pack some food for the tour and that was really appreciated. Would certainly be back if I get the chance again.

Very nice wooden cabin with super comfy bed. Breakfast was not what we ordered but good nevertheless.

Next to the property there are many, many dogs that howl all night long right next to the cabin. Best to bring good earplugs if you want to sleep ;).

The house itself is just so beautiful , super spacious and fully equipped. The location is nice and peaceful , you can rent a motorbike from the accommodation and go anywhere in panglao within 20minutes . There is a family owned store at the entrance for anything you might need. The people are also sweet and willing to help with anything.
