Location at shore of the Lake

The location & it was decorated beautifully with everything you need.

The Lochview apartment is, as the name suggests, on the shore of a loch in a remote part of mainland Orkney. It might only be considered remote if you come from the overcrowded South East of England, but I must say its somewhere I could get used to. The apartment is above the owners house in the converted attic and its smashing and had everything we needed. As the wind blew fiercely outside, we were warm and comfy in our Air Sourced Heat Pump warmed attic space. We managed to see the Sun occasionally during our visit and on one clear evening, the Sunset was magnificent. We only stayed for a few days, confining ourselves to the north of the main island but its a truly wonderful place to visit. Well worth the detour on our NC500 trip.

I wish the weather had been a wee bit warmer but it didn't spoil the trip. Mind your head on the inclined eves though.

A little far away from town but that was also good

Quiet, secluded, meticulously clean. Hosts were fantastic.

The property is in the upper floor of the house and the ceilings are a bit low. If you’re taller than 6 ft. You might have a bit of a problem.

The accommodation was absolutely superb. We were amazed at the sizeable bedroom, bathroom, lounge and kitchen area and all the appliances available to us. We were fortunate enough to have booked for 4 nights and were so sad to leave. We enjoyed being right on the Loch with a lovely view, places to sit outside and relax, and a well recommended place to stay. Well done to Richard and Janet. Thank you so much.

Idyllic tranquil location - everything you could need provided

Fantastic location, right beside Loch and on the more interesting part of the island. Friendly owners close by. Very clean and well presented accommodation.
